Yes, some funny stuff there. If all Oliver wanted to do was meet Vogel, he could have just...called. But the last few episodes have been better comparatively if you look ignore those silly moments.

Phil, Doakes was one of the funniest characters in TV history imo. "Surprise, motherfucker!" was some epic shit.

Also, I think we got a bit of hint on that last episode about how Dexter is going to end. Dexter will move to Argentina with Hannah & Harrison. Deb will be a detective again and probably be engaged to Quinn or something like that. I don't know about Jamie though. I bet Qballer is pissed about that :P

There's something that really bugs me with what's going on here: compared to the season where Rita dies at the end, which was fairly unexpected (for me at least), here you know exactly that something is gonna go extremely wrong for Dexter (aside from Vogel getting killed), and that it's gonna be a pretty tragic ending. While you probably wouldn't want for such a show to end any other way (happily ever after? Dexter??), I think it's taking away some of the elements of surprise that have worked so well in the past for the series. Then again, there's so many things that could actually go wrong and so many people that could get butchered in the way, I guess that still leaves a lot of room for shocking surprises...

I could tell from the tea scene that Vogel's time had come. I think after some here & there incidents, we will probably get the ending we thought at the first place. Dexter happily after in Argentina.

BTW, that Jamie "go fuck yourself" scene was hilarious

Hannah is pretty smart. Not bothering to change her appearance at all despite being a wanted criminal.

I think the ending may be like season 4. Dexter will get the bad guy, but there may be some collateral damage beforehand. I just hope that it's not Deb that ends up dead.

What a waste of a "final" season. What was the point of the scene between Masuka/his daughter? Who cares about Elway/Saxon/Hamilton?

No impending doom sense this season, that's what you'd expect watching a show about a serial killer who works at Miami PD. Last season made it seem like they'd really go after Laguerta's killer hard...and it all sort of fizzled out.

And the Harrison scene. Yikes.

In that aspect I've got to disagree...the Breaking Bad season is whipping Dexter. Too much soap opera days of our lives crap going on in Dex. :|

Yes, funny that. As I stated earlier, without a few episodes, this season is a disappointment in the standards of a normal season, given that this is the last season, makes it worse. But I think that was the point of this season, to show that there is a human side of Dexter. He too can fall in love & be "emotional" about stuff.

Also, in the last episode there was this scene where he said "Saxon is the perfect psychopath I once was", meaning that even Dexter himself knows he is not as sharp as he used to be.

Gotta agree there, but then again it's pretty hard to compete with Breaking Bad. But yeah, there's been a lot of cheesy and seemingly pointless shit in this last season of Dexter.

I didn't say it was better, but the sheer ridiculousness of the story still has me on my toes, while in Breaking Bad I have a feeling I already know what's going to happen

am i the only one watching this season thinking that harrison is going to end up without a father and being pissed about it? i feel like they are really showing the father/son thing so much so it feels worse (more emotional) when harrison has to watch his father get arrested in front of him

It's like they forgot that there was one episode left and had to change the ending to extend it a bit longer.

Dexter is an idiot and would never have let Saxon live in the first few seasons of the show. Stupid writers really have ruined a once great character.

That ending with Deb helping Dexter get Saxon would have been a nice conclusion to the journey they've shared since the pilot, but they went and made it pointless by having him get away and Deb getting shot again.

I'm interested to see how they end it given all the 'Dexter will realise he wants to stay' moments that they dropped in that episode.

Looks like Deb's old boss might get his ass kicked by Dexter in the finale too :P

I can see how the writers would want what should have been Dexter's (possibly) last kill to be instead this kind of gesture, to show that he's finally turning the page and fully becoming the normal guy he's always tried to be, but yeah I agree that this turn of event is a little unsatisfactory. Deb getting non-fatally shot again, Dexter's "mercy" that's obviously going to come back and ruin everything for him,...It seems kind of right, but because they've already gone over this before, it seems pretty uninspired too.

The writers wasted a very mysterious and interesting character in Dexter. This is not really a fitting ending. The last kill (Saxon) is not even a character with deep roots in the story. He just became significant in the last 5-6 episodes, and that's even a stretch. I would have preferred the last kill to be Vogel, at least her character had history with the Morgans. Doakes coming back to life would even be better than this. Queen being the main antagonist would not even be too bad. Saxon is so far from a great choise, and Dexter being a softie ruined everything.

Doakes brought up suicide in season 2 and Dexter thought it was a pathetic choice. Doubt he would have changed his mind, especially now that he has a son and is so intent on a new life with Hannah.

Killing himself only hurts his family anyway. Deb and Hannah already know what he does, so it wouldn't save them from finding out the truth and it would leave Harrison without a father.

Who knows what he'd do if he's backed into a corner though.
