Game is out now. Haven't got it yet, but probably will sometime this week.

I'm looking forward to downloading the 1.2GB patch with my slow internet. Maybe I'll get to play it a few hours later..

Seriously though, the first thing I'll probably do is a few laps around Mt. Panorama.

Wow installing the 1.2 Gigs right now. I was a bit irritated but it says about 10 mins which is not bad at all considering how much I am downloading

so i got to play for a little bit. i don't like that they force you to buy the honda fit off the bat. i'm used to being given 20k and going into the used cars to buy some old beat up clunker to race. i remember in GT1 I bought a Mitsubishi GTO and in GT2 I got a PT Cruiser. one good thing about no used cars is that all cars in the game can be bought from dealerships. in GT5 i hated waiting for cars in the used cars list because i never got the car i wanted. but they are actually pretty generous with credits so I quickly bought my 02 STI. i like the removal of the XP system and love the mini games and coffee breaks. kart racing is a bit more prominent in this one which is cool, wish they would spotlight rally racing more. and WTF racing on the moon

i like the return on older tracks although that might seem a bit lazy, at least that's more tracks to race on. apricot hill returned as mentioned before, but grand valley east and clubman route 5 returns as well. some of the night racing is pretty cool.

Got this for Xmas. (Y)

First thing I noticed was the good loading speeds compared to GT5. The layout of the home screen is pretty nice as well.

I agree about the cars all being in dealerships ready to buy. I usually end up getting a complete car list and collecting as many as I can on these games, so not having to wait for them to show up will be nice.

The first proper car I bought was a Supra RZ and it now has almost 940HP, which surprised me as it only reached about 730HP on GT5

Just bought my favourite GT car, the Tommykaira ZZII. Only costs 60,000 credits and is 4WD, 962 HP and 920 KG. Basically the same power as a Bugatti Veyron, but half the weight and 1,940,000 credits cheaper. Total bargain and a beast of a car.

I bought the Supra for the FR race & 90's race, but I'll have to check the ZZII out (Y)
First car I bought was the 2002 STI and I raced that in the first 2 levels but the competition is getting a bit harder so I've had to use the 15th anniversary cars that I got for free. Seasonal events helped a bit too. there are 2 events in there that give away a fairly large money reward plus free cars. I just unlocked International A races by getting just the bare minimum amount of stars needed to continue

Have not tried the Sebastian Vettel/Red Bull stuff yet. Tried the first moon mission and it was fun  but I don't think i'll really play that. Yeah lading times are a bit better like you said. I can't wait for a drift event so it gives me an excuse to buy a Nissan Silvia/240 and modify to drive sideways

The moon challenges seem a lot harder than you would think. It's almost like driving a hovercraft because by the time you see the rocks you're about to hit it's too late to avoid them.

I did the Red Bull junior championship thing today. It isn't easy because all the AI have exactly the same car as you, but you can just throw it into corners because the grip is insane. Good money in it as well.

I realised just now that you get that Mercedes vision GT car for free. You have to go into the vision GT menu and click "receive as gift". It looks cool and can be tuned up to 1100 HP. (Y)

Oh I thought it cost a million credits, but they have it as a seasonal event and I wasn't sure how people were supposed to get enough money to buy it to compete in the seasonal event with it

Doing the 24 minutes Nurburgring race and by the end of the first lap it started to get dark. It was at that point that I realised that the car I'm driving has no headlights. :x

Toyota 7 race car. It was a shame because it's a beast and I was winning the race and had to quit and buy a $2 million Peugeot. The stupid thing was that I saw an AI driver using the exact same car in the Spa 24 minute race and somehow making it through the night without crashing. :?

I got a couple million from the seasonal events. They can be annoying as you spend laps trying to shave off fractions of a second. But every lap you figure out where you can save time and eventually put a good lap together. I haven't got gold in any yet but silver still pays well.

I've won half of the Super events and they pay really well (especially with the 200% login bonus). I still have a few events to win in both International categories but I'm doing the Super ones because of the $$$, plus they are challenging and fun. You have to worry about Tyre wear, daylight, fuel usage and the weather all whilst having the AI drivers ram you off the road instead of using their brakes. It's all about being on the right tyres at the right time.

I've spent most of my time racing instead of online:
Novice - 24/24
National B - 90/90
National A - 132/132
International B - 96/141
International A - 40/159
Super - 15/27

Also, I've won both Red Bull Kart + Junior Championship and got gold in the first six events at Goodwood.

Actually, I just did one of the new seasonal events that they added today and got gold by over 2 seconds on my first attempt and made 1.5 million. Easy. (Y)

Maybe. The new ones were a Lancia event and a Honda S2000 one. Got 2-3 million for gold in them.

I really hate the go karts in this game. The only thing I need to do in International B is one kart race at the GT arena. I can only get bronze though and you can't really tune karts. It's so annoying.

:fruity:

Won the Nurburgring 24 minute race today. Pretty crazy driving around in the dark with 100% surface water and fog. Luckily I was driving a 4WD and kept it on the track. Only the Le Mans race left to do in the Super events now.

Got over 6 million in the bank as well.

Re: Gran Turismo 6

I bought this game a few weeks ago when it was on sale for $40 on Amazon. It's good! Gran Turismo 5 introduced a lot of new features but the whole thing felt unfinished, even after a year of patches. There was fun to be had but the course list left something to be desired, the single player mode was garbage and as a whole it lacked the nostalgia that has always kept me from enjoying the objectively better Forza nearly as much.

This game still lacks a decent damage model and is missing some of my favorite tracks (Midfield? Seattle? SSR11?) The single player mode is actually fun as the AI is improved, the XP system is done away with and there seems to be more events. The driving model seems to be improved (except for the karts - which are a chore after being surprisingly fun in GT5) and I haven't tried Online yet.

Haven't had a lot of time to play lately and have been taking it slow, so I'm still on International-B, looking for a car to win the GT (All-Stars?) Championship, as the CPU cars keep spinning out my Arta NSX on the High Speed Ring. In the meantime, racing QBaller's driving lines are fun.

Hey Phil, what car did you use to beat the International A section? I have $2.5 million and don't want to spend it on a car only to find out it won't beat the Toyota 7 & Minolta Race car

I think I used the ZZII for most of them.

I'd have a look right now, but I can't play GT6 atm because my PS3 resets every time I try to download the latest update. I wish they had released GT6 on the PS4 because my PS3 is pretty old and on it's last legs which is annoying. :(

I'll see if I can get it working offline later and have a closer look at those races and what I have done with them.

a ZZII? after rereading what i wrote i guess i wasnt as specific as i thought i was. i was wondering about how to beat the final IA championship. The PP limit on that is ~750 PP

My 15th anniversary Huayra has over 1000 hp but has a mind of its own
