I am curious... Would people have any interest in a tool that's an option as a substitute for shrinkwrapping? Instead, it would be like a copy and paste of only the 3D body (arms, torso, hidden, legs) from one model file to another.

So, for instance, say for some odd reason you wanted to replace Shaq's 3D body with Kevin Durant's. You would run this program and in a matter of seconds, you could put the new file in your png.iff archive and see the changes in game.

Yes! That sounds heavenly for draft class creation. Swapping player bodies can be some of the more tedious work.

Alright here's a beta version of the tool for you guys to test out. The only thing you have to do is temporarily rename your model files like they are here so the tool knows what's what. You can store the directory anywhere, just make sure that the following is in the folder when you use it:

1) The .exe called "autowrap.exe"
2) "source.model" - this is the model file that you would be shrinkwrapping to
3) "target_in.model" - this is the model file that you want to make changes to

* A file named "target_out.model" will be created by the tool, a copy of your original "target_in.model" file, just with the body vertex data overwritten. Your original files will not be altered. Also, included in the .zip is an example of what your folder should look like.

Re: trevorjpt33's modding tools for 2K19

Postby trevorjpt33 on Thu Mar 28, 2019 10:26 am

I'm going to be more active on this thread to work on 2K19 modding tools that either a) make life a lot easier or b) allow for new editing capabilities that as of now do not exist.

I have a program that transfers a 3D accessory from one player (or file) to another: hair, masks, goggles, etc. - regardless of whether the 3D accessory is found in a player's hihead_____.model file with the rest of the 3d body (goggles), or if it is found in a separate file (hair). This tool was originally intended to provide a remedy for the inability to change/add/swap 3D hair in 2K17, but I thought this could potentially be useful for other games as well, especially 2K19. So I generalized it to just 3D accessories.

I'm not sure, though, since the hair is now in a separate file and easy to add to a player. Or if there is any advantage in having your hair or beard packaged with the 3D body like it was in 2K17 and not in a separate file. Also, since I have not modded 2K19 much yet, I don't know what you guys currently do for stuff like masks and goggles, but hopefully it can be of help in some way.

Nevertheless, to illustrate I have extracted the mask from the hihead file of another cyberface, as well as younger Dirk's hair from his separate hair file, and applied them to Kobe with this method.

In the hihead.SCNE file, it looks like it did in 2K17 with all of this stuff together

This is massive! Would make hair transfers so much easier! Does it work for facial hair?

It does for 2K17/2K18 facial hair. I have not messed with the new tangentspace facial hair, though. It is worth noting that these capabilities of the tool work interchangeably between 2K17, 2K18, 2K19. For example, I used this method to add a 2K17 facial hair and a 2K18 3D hair to a 2K19 player. And I applied 2K19 3D hair to a 2K17 player.

Anyone that plays MyCareer at all:

I have seen a lot of videos on YouTube detailing a method of getting a ponytail with a certain color hair and a baseball cap in that same color, which makes it look like you have a do-rag. Is there actually a do-rag/bandana accessory in MyCareer or is it just this method that you are able to use?

Asking because if there is indeed an accessory of something along those lines and there are files for it in the game, I want to make sure that the 3D accessory tool supports adding it in order to simulate the Jrue Holiday style headbands prior to releasing.

(Holiday was the first one I noticed wearing his headband like this). With so many players adapting the look this year, it would be very helpful to be able to use it in modded cyberfaces.

There are actual durags in the game. 2K calls them bandanas

Oh sweet. Do you happen to know what files they are in the game? I've tried searching bandana, durag, etc. and haven't found anything yet. I would imagine they're in the 2U archive for MyCareer somewhere?

I think they are in the sync.bin. These weren't in the game at release, just within the last 3 weeks I think

I found one of them I think. It looks like the actual model and textures are compressed and/or encrypted inside this (.CBND) file. I don't know how to extract them though.

Hey. No problem. I'm still trying to get acclimated to 2K19 specific modding stuff, are you already able to change the CF ID of the facialHair_tangentspace.iff archives and apply the beard to a different player?

Hey guys,

3D Accessory Tool release is briefly on hold right now as I look into adding support for the non-traditional headbands I mentioned a few posts back. I'm trying to find the files and add support for them.

Once that is released, though, I will be shifting my focus to providing tools for other areas of modding. Since essentially everything I have put out so far has been catered to cyberface editing.

To start, I had someone ask me a while back about a tool that allows you to edit vertex colors in Blender and export that data for stadium lighting purposes. Is there any interest and/or need for a tool like this? **Edit: Ok so no interest in that idea. If any non-cyberface modders have any ideas I am open to suggestions
