Talk about NBA 2K20 here.

Official NLSC Wishlist for NBA 2K20 (SUBMITTED)

Postby Andrew on Sat Jan 12, 2019 11:26 am

NOTE: Our NBA 2K20 Wishlist has now been finalised and sent along to the development team; thanks to everyone who helped out with it! Nothing more will be added to our official list, but we'll leave the topic open for further discussion and pass along anything extra if we can. Once the preview season for NBA 2K20 gets underway, this topic will be closed. You can check out our NBA 2K20 Wishlist below!

Alright everyone, we want to get an early start on our Wishlist for NBA 2K20, so here is our official NBA 2K20 Wishlist thread. This is the place to post constructive feedback that will be submitted to the NBA 2K Development Team; that means anything from bugs that need fixing, to features that you want to see added or improved upon, to anything else you feel would make the next iteration of NBA 2K better.

A couple of notes and important suggestions on how to give the most comprehensive and useful feedback (based on previous conversations with developers):

Important Notes & Suggestions

Please keep this stuff in mind as you're posting your ideas!

  • One suggested format is to post your top 15-20 wishes/suggestions for the game, ie. the 15-20 most important things that NBA 2K20 needs to do/add/improve upon. If you have a couple of extra points, that's fine, but try to prioritise. If you don't have that many suggestions, that's fine too; just post the feedback you have and want to share with the developers.

  • Alternatively, post your top ten or so suggestions you have for different aspects of the game, such as gameplay, game modes, presentation, features, and so on. Again, if you have less than ten, no problem. That's a strongly suggested maximum for the lists, not a minimum.

  • Make sure that you elaborate and post further details where necessary. There's no need to write an essay - there's nothing wrong with being brief, direct, and to the point - but saying things like "better gameplay" doesn't give enough feedback. Explain how you want gameplay to get better, what changes are required to see an improvement. Mention specific issues, along with relevant improvements and fixes you want to see. A few sentences or subpoints are fine, and will add clarification.

  • Be constructive! No insults, flaming or bashing in this thread. If you're not interested in providing actual feedback and discussing ways to improve the game, please move along. If you want to vent about NBA 2K19, please feel free to make use of other threads in the Forum, but this is a thread for constructive feedback only. You don't need to sugarcoat things, or hold back on talking about stuff that needs to be fixed, just don't be abusive or needlessly snarky. Explaining what you think is broken or unsatisfactory, and what you want to see changed, is useful feedback. Telling the developers they're stupid, suck, and you hate them, on the other hand, is not.

  • Lists of bugs that haven't been resolved in the NBA 2K19 title updates are also most welcome.

That's about it. Feel free to start posting your ideas and if you have any further questions, just ask. We'll be passing along all feedback, and will likely look at compiling a "Top Wishes" section as the Wishlist takes shape.

NLSC NBA 2K20 Wishlist

This is the official NLSC NBA 2K20 Wishlist. It represents a comprehensive overview of what our community most wants to see added and fixed in NBA 2K20 and beyond. Thanks to everyone who helped to compile this year's Wishlist!

Key Points/Overview

  • Achieve better balance between offline and online play.
  • Strive for better balance in gameplay, particularly when it comes to player builds in MyCAREER and the connected modes.
  • Continue to fine-tune the motion system to reduce skating and improve physicality, without compromising the fluidity of the controls.
  • Continue to polish up player/team AI and overall strategy. Ensure that ACE makes more of a difference in all single player modes.
  • Implement fairer prices of items, increase VC earnings, or add different currencies for use in upgrading players and purchasing cosmetic items.
  • Reduce the tedium of the grind in MyCAREER and the connected online experiences.
  • Expand in-game customisation options even further.
  • Improve player ratings, especially for Legends.
  • Implement better/actual matchmaking in online modes, so that users face opponents of similar skill level while they're getting better at online play.
  • Make the PC version more modder-friendly, with roster and art files that are easier to work with.

Gameplay

  • Find a way to fine-tune online and offline gameplay independently of one another, so that changes to one don't mess up the other.
  • Reduce the amount of skating/floating and clunky changes of direction, fix speed breaks, and improve foot planting, while retaining the responsiveness of the controls.
  • Improve physicality and reduce clipping. There's far too many instances of the ball warping and clipping through players, steal attempts that swat right through the ball, and so forth.
  • Better balance between the user and CPU. The CPU is able to keep control of dribbles that the user loses, suck users into animations, have poor defenders stick with great offensive players, and basically play by a different set of rules.
  • Ensure the Adaptive Coaching Engine has more of an impact on games, across all single player modes.
  • Improve CPU playcalling and team differentiation.
  • Decrease the amount of lapses by AI teammates when defending the pick and roll, and improve logic for defending the pick and roll in general.
  • Improve animation selection. Sometimes, it feels success is based more on the game being kind in the animation that is triggered, rather than the input (even when using the Pro Stick).
  • Improve help defense and rotations, especially on pick and rolls. CPU teammates still make poor decisions, and sometimes even actively scoot out of the way to let opponents straight through to the basket.
  • Improve intelligence of AI teammates, especially in MyCAREER. Too often they'll make unnecessary fakes, take too long to make their move, or choose an ill-advised shot.
  • Reduce the amount of canned fouls. A single press of the steal button shouldn't result in wild grabbing and slapping at the ball (though spamming it should).
  • Penalise excessive use of the steal button in online play
  • Ensure that body steals are kept to a minimum. Patch 1.08 for NBA 2K19 seems to have done a good job of reducing them; please keep that balance!
  • Tone down AI interceptions. AI opponents pick off passes like Michael Jordan in his prime, even if they're weak defenders and have superhuman awareness and reflexes, even when their backs are turned. Also reduce the tendency for teammates to run behind defenders after you've made the pass, sucking the ball into an interception.
  • Reduce canned moments in general: passes going straight to way out of position AI defenders (as confirmed by examining the trajectory of the pass in instant replay), getting sucked into two-man animations, etc.
  • Bring back NBA 2K17's shooting mechanics for free throws. This is where stick aiming is appropriate for shooting.
  • Address the issue with super fast dunking animations for tall players. It makes 7'3" MyPLAYERs in particular very cheesy, because they dunk at superhuman speed.
  • Get rid of the awkward animations when players receive an inbounds pass after a basket (mostly happens with MyPLAYERs).
  • Improve directional passing. Even with adjustments to the controller settings, it still goes to the wrong teammate way too often, contributing an the inflated number of cheap interceptions.
  • Reduce the amount of ugly shots/air balls, especially when players aren't smothered by the defense.
  • Bring back signature layup packages, and/or expand the range of generic layup packages.
  • Remove some of the awkward layups/push shots in the paint.
  • Ensure gameplay is balanced, with as few cheap and frustrating moments as possible. Challenge should come from smart play, and not feel artificial.
  • Crack down on zig-zag cheese. Every year it gets patched, and then finds its way back in again, resulting in the same old cheese online.
  • Add a bigger variety of body models.
  • Improve the ball's interactions with the rim and net.
  • Reduce the speed of size-up moves for more realism. This is especially a problem for historic players, who could use some era-specific animation packages.
  • Mo-cap multiple running animations for players of varying athleticism. There are currently more options for custom running animations in The Neighborhood than in NBA gameplay!
  • Add an attribute that determines the way a player is likely to affect team chemistry/morale.
  • Add an attribute that determines the animation speed of catch-and-pass and catch-and-shoot, as well as how likely a player is to fumble passes and dribbles.

MyCAREER

  • Ensure that there are no builds that are either cheesy or broken. There are still a lot of builds that aren't viable, or aren't viable both online and offline.
  • Overhaul the grading logic so that there's more balance between rewarding good play and punishing mistakes, as well as better logic when it comes to evaluating shot selection, defensive breakdowns, lucky rebounds (or being overpowered by a bigger player), transition offense and defense, and so on.
  • Bring back an actual free throw rating and let us improve it, instead of the lengthy grind of the Free Throw Ace Badge. Also make the starting free throw rating higher for shooting Archetypes.
  • Make gameplay less reliant on Badges. It's resulted in a Catch-22 where you need Badges to do things like complete alley-oops, but need to complete alley-oops to earn the Badges. They're also very overpowering, especially online.
  • Change the requirements for certain Badges. Alpha Dog should be leading the team in scoring, not padding all five stats categories.
  • Increase XP earnings for Badges and cap breakers. It shouldn't really slow down until you're well past 90 Overall.
  • Improve teammate AI and team strategy. As noted above, AI teammates often make silly decisions at both ends of the court.
  • Improve substitution logic so you don't get yanked in the middle of a tightly contested game, where you're having a big impact. It's frustrating for that to happen and get subbed in again with the game out of reach.
  • Allow NBA game accessories to be set without advancing to the locker room first. They should be accessible in the MyPLAYER Clothes menu.
  • Add shortcuts to load directly into Pro-Am, Walk-On, or your MyCOURT when you enter MyCAREER.
  • Further increase Virtual Currency earnings, or reduce prices of items. As it stands, several items cost more than a game's salary. Some clothes have an in-universe value of thousands of dollars!
  • Retain the ability to skip the story. Better yet, take an approach similar to MyGM, and allow gamers who don't want to play through the story even once to begin their NBA career immediately.
  • Tone down the effectiveness of Takeover (if the mechanic is still in the game).
  • Allow us to practice free throws on MyCOURT. Leave improvements to the rating to training sessions, but let us freely practice our timing and learn our form.
  • Allow us to skip the short, repetitive scenes such as the coach talking to us before a drill, walking from the locker room to the court, and so on.
  • Allow all Archetypes with sufficient dunking ratings to dunk more often, and possibly unlock flashier dunks. With some of the other unrealistic elements in MyCAREER, it's odd to be a stickler for realism here.
  • Add multiple starting points for your MyPLAYER depending on the path you want to take (e.g. different starting ratings with differing difficulty of levelling up), and meaningful roleplaying/story branching options.
  • Add more varied responses to in-game text messages, and allow responses to in-game Tweets.
  • Fix issue where assists don't count on passes that are slightly deflected or bobbled, are intercepted by a different teammate, and sometimes simply don't register on alley-oop attempts.
  • Fix issue where steals are tallied inconsistently when two players are involved (i.e. sometimes the person who poked it loose gets the steal, sometimes the person who picks up the loose ball gets credited instead).
  • Change the button for the menu so it isn't rebound (this is more for Pro-Am and Walk-On, where you can't rebound during the shootaround).
  • Allow us to zoom in and view the trophies in our cabinet in our MyCOURT.
  • Add transaction listings and other resources, so that you can keep better track of what's going on around the league.
  • Add pop-up notifications (that can be disabled) when there's a major event like a player being injured or someone gets traded (especially when it's on your team).
  • Cut down on the number of repetitive post-game interviews. It'd be nice to be able to immediately skip them altogether as with other cutscenes, as it's too easy to end up seeing the same ones over and over.
  • Remove the whole Gatorade Turbo Boost, or lower the level required for the Gym Rat Badge. It's just pointless busywork every five games.
  • As you win Division, Conference, and NBA Championships, add the respective banners to the rafters.
  • Add more hairstyles and facial hair options.

2K Pro-Am

  • Ensure that there are no builds that are either cheesy or broken. There are still a lot of builds that aren't viable, or aren't viable both online and offline.
  • Bring back the minimum of three players required to play Pro-Am or Walk-On/Jordan Rec Center. If need be, only match teams with less than five users with other teams that have less than five.
  • Add better matchmaking so that teams of similar skill level and experience in 2K Pro-Am match up against each other more often.
  • Include Casual and Competitive matchmaking options, similar to Rocket League. That way, experienced/hardcore/elite teams will play each other, while those who want more of a "social league" atmosphere will play each other.
  • Have "seasons" during the year where your record/rank resets, once again similar to Rocket League.
  • Penalise players for constantly disbanding and creating new Pro-Am squads (or at least, offer less incentive to do so).
  • Overhaul the grading logic so that there's more balance between rewarding good play and punishing mistakes, as well as better logic when it comes to evaluating shot selection, defensive breakdowns, lucky rebounds (or being overpowered by a bigger player), transition offense and defense, and so on.
  • Ensure that private matchmaking works properly.
  • Unlock team customisation with image importing after a set number of games, rather than wins/winning percentage. If nothing else, make the qualifications for getting to higher tiers clear, consistent, and readily available to reference.
  • Tune long passes so that easy ones can be thrown and caught more often. It's frustrating to have players refuse to even try to catch easy long passes because a canned turnover has been triggered.
  • If there are CPU teammates (or when a user is removed from the game), make sure the AI plays a smart game of basketball.
  • if there are CPU teammates, make them real NBA players (underscoring the Pro in Pro-Am). The quality of NBA teammates could depend on the team's level; the better your record, the better the random NBA player you get.
  • Replace fictional AI teammates with randomly drawn NBA players, to underscore the "Pro" part of "Pro-Am" (and avoid the lousy teammates we're so often stuck with).
  • Allow us to rebound when shooting around in the team arena/Jordan Rec Center. As mentioned above, changing the button for the MyCAREER menu would be helpful here.
  • Punish cheaters and hackers on PC; clean up the experience.
  • Make 2K Pro-Am as fun and balanced as the NBA 2K League Combine reportedly was.
  • Tone down the effectiveness of Takeover (if the mechanic is still in the game).
  • Remove the whole Gatorade Turbo Boost, or lower the level required for the Gym Rat Badge. It's just pointless busywork every five games.
  • Crack down on zig-zag cheese. Every year it gets patched, and then finds its way back in again, resulting in the same old cheese online.
  • Have Walk-On games take place in arena where only you and your opponent is playing. Having other games go on in the background only leads to lag and framerate issues, especially for international gamers.

The Playground

  • Ensure that there are no builds that are either cheesy or broken. There are still a lot of builds that aren't viable, or aren't viable both online and offline.
  • Overhaul the grading logic so that there's more balance between rewarding good play and punishing mistakes, as well as better logic when it comes to evaluating shot selection, defensive breakdowns, lucky rebounds (or being overpowered by a bigger player), transition offense and defense, and so on.
  • Add some sort of matchmaking so that players of similar skill levels and experience in The Playground match up against each other more often.
  • Add private matchmaking so that you can square off against friends (or add some Playground animations and gameplay to MyCOURT games).
  • Add some sort of instant matchmaking to bypass the whole "Got Next" system. We get replicating the whole experience of playing at your local park, but it leads to a lot of standing around waiting, effectively simulating the most tedious part of any activity: waiting in line.
  • Add more two-on-two courts, and bring back a single four-on-four or five-on-five court on a permanent basis (not just as a special event).
  • As mentioned above, balance the gameplay and in particular, the hybrid Archetypes.
  • Reduce the cost of basic celebrations. As it stands, it's a blatant VC gouge.
  • Punish cheaters and hackers on PC; clean up the experience.
  • Tone down the effectiveness of Takeover (if the mechanic is still in the game).
  • Fix issues where VC rewards aren't given after participating in Neighborhood events.

MyLEAGUE/MyGM

  • Continue to improve sim engine and stats generation so that the results are more realistic, at least while the league remains relatively the same as real life (without major slider adjustments).
  • Continue to fine-tune player movement and trading logic so that it's mostly sensible (without major slider adjustments).
  • Tone down coaching changes so that there's more sensible logic behind them. Gregg Popovich shouldn't be leaving San Antonio, teams that are winning shouldn't be quick to dump coaches, and so on.
  • Make it easier to edit the pool of generic/fictional coaches. They should be accessible to edit without having to first sign them.
  • Allow the use of custom rosters in MyGM.
  • Add pop-up notifications (that can be disabled) when there's breaking news, such as a trade or major injury.
  • Allow relationships between players and teams to become fractured to the point there are trade demands and advance notice that a player will refuse to re-sign.
  • Add historical league options (Four Divisions, less than 30 teams, retro rules) for old school custom MyLEAGUE games.
  • As you win Division, Conference, and NBA Championships, add the respective banners to the rafters.
  • Improve stability for MyLEAGUE Online.
  • Have players and coaches physically age through the years.
  • Allow head coaches to be demoted/accept assistant positions if they don't have any offers to be head coaches. This could also be a way for them to become head coaches again, if they're the assistant for someone who gets fired.
  • Fix randomisation in generated Draft Classes so that there a fewer silly appearances, and ratings that don't match Archetypes.
  • Tune Progression, Potential, Peak Start and Peak End, so that the league isn't overflowing with 90+ Overall players.
  • Allow player tendencies to change and evolve over their careers.
  • Add more player personality options, e.g. players who are adamant about starting and get upset if they're benched, egos that are more difficult to manage, etc.
  • Expand player personalities and add attributes for a player's relationships with their coaches and teammates, which will affect morale and how likely they are to want to be traded/leave via free agency as soon as they can. Also provide more feedback on why a player's morale is low.
  • Add cash considerations and further pick protections to trading options.
  • Have CPU teams experiment with their lineups, especially if they're losing (or tanking!), a bench player earns more minutes, or someone is slumping.
  • Improve historical Draft Classes with generic players that at least mimic the skillset of the players they're standing in for. Obviously, appearances, names, and other bio data will have to remain generic for legal reasons, but the less editing required for the generic players, especially in older classes with fewer real players, the better.
  • Deeper scouting reports. Allow us to read a synopsis of a player's strengths and weaknesses, tendencies, projected role, background information, etc.
  • Add playable Draft workouts/the Draft Combine.
  • Add a playable training camp, with options on what to focus upon.
  • Increase the amount of free throw attempts in simulated games.
  • Make good team chemistry harder to attain, but have more of a positive effect when you do.
  • Increase the influence of playing time and role on player progression.
  • Account for different attitudes towards playing time for different players; young players eager to prove themselves, veterans willing to sacrifice and ring chase, etc.
  • Add more sliders to control simulated stats.
  • Add a slider to control how likely a team is to shop players who have low morale and want out. As it stands, CPU teams often don't bother trying to trade unhappy players.
  • Add a monthly in-game magazine that covers the league's top stories.
  • Add Badges for coaches in MyLEAGUE, and attributes for player development and player relationships. Have these attributes affect both gameplay and roster/morale management.

MyTEAM

  • Improve pack odds and content. One player per pack often results in poor value for the cost. Reduce the cost, or offer better value.
  • Throwback packs should only have throwback content, not a "small chance" of getting a historical player. Even if it isn't necessarily a star player, it should always be a retro player.
  • Have a few more Legends be available at launch.
  • Allow users to buy individual cards at a premium MT price. This could also set the market value for the Auction House to some extent.
  • Ideally don't make the Auction House unlockable, but if it is, don't require users to play any of the online modes to unlock it. At the very least, do not make it a requirement to win; poor sports and pay-to-win mechanics get in the way of that.
  • Lower the requirements for unlocking full team customisation.
  • Implement better matchmaking, according to skill, experience, and quality of team.
  • If we're part of a 2K Pro-Am squad, allow our teammates to be unlocked for use in MyTEAM.
  • If the Token system is retained, choose better players for each tier. Some of the Emerald and Sapphire cards were puzzling/disappointing, but had to be acquired in order to unlock the next tier.

Roster Management & Customisation

  • Expand Edit and Create Player to include access to full bio data and attributes, including Draft information and any currently hidden tendencies that will affect gameplay.
  • Enhance facial editing in Create Player. Borrowing assets from WWE 2K would be ideal.
  • Expand the total number of Created Player slots from 150; preferably as many as technically possible.
  • Bring back Create-a-Team, with the ability to export and share team files to be imported into any roster.
  • Add the ability to edit the All-Star teams.
  • Add the ability to use the rebranding features (complete with image importing) outside of MyLEAGUE, MyGM, and MyTEAM, so that teams can be modified as part of a custom roster.
  • Add more hairstyles and facial hair options, for both MyPLAYERs and created players in general.
  • Add a bigger variety of body models.
  • Add sliders that allow for more "crazy" moments in offline play, for gamers who want to change things up or increase the amount of highlight plays.
  • Allow sorting and ranking in 2K Share, to help filter results and find what you're looking for.
  • Add Quick Edit options for physical attributes.
  • Add chest protrusion and neck thickness to body editing.

Other Modes, Features, & Content

  • Add retro rules options, or the ability to customise the rules, so that we can play with old school teams under era-specific rules.
  • Add a standalone All-Star Weekend mode, so that we can play the Slam Dunk Contest and Three-Point Shootout anytime.
  • Add some sort of challenge mode that utilises all of the historical teams (or at least the retro squads, if not the All-Time teams).
  • Bring back a Creating a Legend-type career mode, for a more streamlined career experience.
  • Try to work out deals with Charles Barkley and Reggie Miller, as well as other missing historical players.
  • Improve facescan app so that it doesn't result in many errors and failed attempts to scan. Results also still leave something to be desired.
  • Make all hairstyles and facial hair styles immediately available when creating your MyPLAYER, especially if you're going to charge to change them at the Barber Shop later on.
  • Allow pre-order content to be shared between different MyCAREER saves.
  • Overhaul ratings and tendencies for historical teams and players, for greater accuracy.
  • Add more historical teams; preferably more interesting and significant ones.
  • Add FIBA teams.
  • Remove three-point line from the courts of teams from before 1980; have shots from three-point range count for two when playing on those courts.

Presentation & UI

  • Secure authentic broadcasting license (perhaps NBA TV, given the mix of voice talent already in the game) for even more realistic presentation.
  • Allow us to pick presentation/atmosphere settings in Play Now: Pre-Season, Regular Season, Playoffs, Conference Finals, NBA Finals, and special events (St Patrick's Day, Christmas, etc).
  • Allow camera cuts when the ball is being chased down on a dead ball situation, instead of having to wait for it to be retrieved. In other words, allow us to skip straight to the inbound with a button press.
  • Allow us to quickly skip through halftime shows and stats screens during dead balls, or add an option to disable them altogether, should you want a more streamlined experience.
  • Allow us to dismiss the "Update Required" dialogue box, at least until the current game is finished. It's distracting, intrusive, and ruins the presentation.
  • Change the button for the menu in MyCAREER so that it isn't the same as rebound (thus taking that control away when shooting around in the Pro-Am arena and Jordan Rec Center).
  • Add options for retro filters and presentation, as in NBA's Greatest in NBA 2K12.
  • Increase the number of save slots to share between MyLEAGUE, MyGM, and MyCAREER.
  • Add the option for always having player introductions.
  • Improve lighting and stadium sounds for a more realistic environment.
  • Add a filter for a more authentic broadcast appearance.
  • Enhance replays for more authenticity, and make them less stuck on the ball. In manual Instant Replay, allow the camera to be moved more freely.
  • Add more stats overlays that "tell the story" of the current game, as well as the season overall in MyLEAGUE/MyGM and MyCAREER.

Miscellaneous

  • Demonstrate goodwill and balance in the implementation of microtransactions and pay-to-win mechanics across the board.
  • Make the PC version more modder-friendly, with roster and art files that can easily be opened with readily available software (or better yet, some official tools).
  • Optimise the PC version. Performance is still often disappointing on great gaming machines that run other demanding games without any problems.
  • Reduce the amount of random CTDs with no error message in the PC version.
  • Don't have Trophies/Achievements that can be made unknowingly difficult to attain, or ones that encourage microtransactions.
  • Allow all sound to be captured along with video on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It would be a tremendous help to users without a capture card. If there's an issue with copyright, block the music from being captured, but at least allow commentary and sound effects.
  • Allow the creation of custom soundtracks (at least on PC, where music files can be dumped into a folder); possible Spotify integration?

Re: Official NLSC Wishlist for NBA 2K20

Well, I put this on the 2k forum, but I would think making it a definitive version is having more leagues and definitely put in international teams. The FIBA World Cup is next year and it's perfect for promoting the international game. One thing about basketball it's the second biggest team sport behind soccer, and look how many leagues FIFA has. Even NHL have a bunch of European leagues and that sells less than 2k. I know they had Euroleague for a bit but i feel they but I think they should bring back the international aspect. I also think an important aspect of basketball is the college game, would it be a longshot? I don't know, but a lot of these college teams are better than European clubs too. I'm not saying, to use player names but the college game and international game is such a big part of basketball these days. I have a whole list of leagues from each region and they're tiered too, based on importance, especially for Europe and Latin America, and the NCAA conferences are ranked from recent ratings. Pardon for it being big.

IMPORT AND EXPORT TEAMS FROM DIFFERENT SEASONS!!!

For example: if i have all NBA seasons in different saves files, let me export and import teams from different seasons to play against each other.

We use to have this tool until NBA 2K12, now the most important projects of this forum are for NBA's 2K13 and 2K14 and i can export and import many great squads that people worked on for several years, because i don't have a stupid option inside the game.

I can not realise WHY 2K SPORTS TAKE IT OUT IN FIRST PLACE???
Makes me very angry!
Better then ever! :D

Re: Official NLSC Wishlist for NBA 2K20

Postby sticky-fingers on Sun Jan 13, 2019 7:57 pm

Every year we post our wishlist here for what result ?

My wishes, only for OFFLINE basketball game (i dont give a shit about My....) :

Gameplay :
- improve speed differences : fast players have to be fast, slow players, specially PF and Centers have to be slow
- improve IA Offense (all teams seems playing the same way, all the playbooks are the same etc...)
- improve IA defense (IA never trap, no defense adjustment during the game)
- improve IA pump fake 'cos CPU never jump
- too many jump ball after user traps CPU
- fix rosters : players with weak defense can grant a 90+ overall ; 25 is the lower value etc ...
- real rules for each era (no 3pt for 60/70, no zone till 2000 etc...)

Content :
- more classic teams with FULL rosters
- export teams / players from current version to the next one

Presentation :
- back to 2K10 pre game footage, 2K10/11 post game options.
- remove this fucking useless trampoline half-time animation
- for classic teams, use 2K12 idea : filter / scoreboard for each era

Graphics :
- improve hair cuts, it looks so old gen, specially for caucasian players (check nvidia hairworks)
- fix popping eyes
- improve faces
- real body scans
- improve cheerleaders
- support nvidia Ansel
- tweak the performances 2k15/16 runs perfectly at 4K, 17-19 are hunger for unknow reason
- update textures : there are still a lot of old and small textures from last gen specially for the arenas

Sounds :
- remove annoying sounds in game while selecting tactics
- crowd : plz go back to 2K9 (!) atmosphere

Money :
- Remove VC & other stupids commercial things : we've PAID for a FULL GAME ! or release NBA2K as a Freemium...

MyGM :
- remove (awful) scenario
- it will be great to see players getting older (face, hair, weight, position)

Network :
- improve netcode / buy new servers / learn to implement QoS

Steam :
- improve integration (Workshop / vats / cards)

• Continue working on body types
- some guys look perfect, others not so much
- players legs need to be longer compared to the upper body
- reduce head size on a lot of players

• Reduce the size of the shoes
- a lot of shoes still look like moon boots particularly the Jordan shoes

• Reduce length of shorts
- nba players predominantly wear shorter shorts now, the game needs to reflect this especially players like KD

• Court lighting
- seems to be going backwards in this department. Needs an overhaul ASAP

• Improve stadium sounds

• Russell Westbrook for 2k20 cover
- so you guys can finally have a scan of him and not have him looking like anyone but Westbrook. He looks God awful in 2k

For both 2k18 and 2k19, I've really only gotten into the MyCareer mode, simply because of time restraints. I've delved slightly into MyTeam and MyLeague, but not significantly.
I preface this because my suggestions won't be as detailed as other gamers who dive more deeply into the game. But there a few things I'd like to see changed or added.

1. More historic teams/players - Every few years a great historic team will be added only to see 1 or 2 dropped off the list. I'm a big retro fan, so I love playing with these historic teams.
Consequently, I'd love to see all the missing players added (Barkley, Miller, Moses, etc.) as I'm sure we all would. You have the $, so make it happen, 2k.

2. Ability to play a historic season - This can be somewhat accomplished with the custom MyLeague, but I don't want the '91 Bulls playing the '87 Lakers. It just doesn't feel authentic.
One of my absolute favorite mods is within 2k14, where nearly every team from every season has been added. I can recreate an entire season with accurate teams and players, and it's just awesome.
I don't expect 2k to offer this within the game, but if not, at least make it easier to mod like 2k14 so those of us who desire to relive those seasons can do so.

3. Player's faces - Some of the faces on historic players this year were just horrendous. Like, so bad that I wouldn't be able to pick them out of a lineup if they didn't have jerseys on. (See: Olajuwon, Hakeem). Thankful that we can add cyberfaces within our PC version to correct this, but we shouldn't have to.

4. Technical fouls - Years ago I wrote on one of these wish lists that I wanted to see more aggressiveness in the game. Not fights, because they obviously aren't going to add that. Nor should they. But basketball is a passionate and aggressive sport. Guys get angry and upset. Over the past few 2k versions, I've loved seeing guys get tangled up for a jump ball and after the ref blows the whistle, a player yanks the ball out of the other player's hands in a show of aggression. Yes!! More of that!! (BTW, I'm NOT taking credit for them adding that. Just saying it has long been a desire of mine to see.)
Things like that can be added to not only add realism in the game, but perhaps it could even be a crowd boost. How about giving us the option after a dunk to hang on the rim as long as we want? Hang too long, you get a tech. Hang just long enough and maybe you've demoralized your opponent just a bit, or gotten your home crowd more into the game. Or how about after a certain foul call, you can argue the call with the ref (either player or coach.) I remember this option being in MVP05 baseball. You could bring your manager out of the dugout to argue a call. If you argued too much, he got tossed. I'm not even sure if it hurt or benefitted your team, but it was fun!
I especially think this would add value to playoff games and really amp up the intensity.

5. Clipping - Lord help us. Every year, it's just there. Better this year than last, I guess. But man....come'on.

6. More specific commentary - I applaud 2k this year for adding things to the commentary, specifically when you are about to break a record in a game. It's talked about, and then when it happens, it's celebrated. Love it! Adds such depth and immersion into the game. I just think it could be slightly improved upon. For instance, I'm probably going to win the Rookie of the Year award and the MVP in MyCareer, so perhaps have commentary that speaks to the significance of that. Again, they've really done a great job already on what they've added. Would just like to see it tweaked a bit more.

7. Slider for....crazy plays? - I love the simulation factor of 2k. As much as we complain about it, we are LIGHT YEARS from where we were 20 years ago in basketball gaming. That being said, 2k is still a video game. I love for it to be as real as possible, but I also just like having fun. I certainly don't want to turn 2k into NBA Jam, but what if we had certain sliders for plays that border on ridiculous. Example: a slider for how often someone blocks a shot into the stands (I've seen it happen in 2k, so yes, I know it's already possible. But what if I want to see it more?) Also, how about passes between a defender's legs? Happens in real life. Not sure if I've seen it in 2k. But give me a slider to adjust how often it does. And my all-time desire: ability to break/shatter a backboard. Look, I know this doesn't happen anymore. I get that. But I also grew up watching Daryl Dawkins and a young Shaq, so I've seen it. And when it happened, it was awesome. I don't want that to happen every game in 2k. But maybe once in every 100 games? Or....just give me a slider for it and I'll figure out the frequency. It's a video game. Sometimes, I just want to see something crazy.

I think 2K Sports should listen to those critics in a good way, cause they're all for the true benefit of the users and for the profit of themselves.

"Listen to the customer" way of doing things is still very challenging for companies, but this is a every year product comming up at sales, so they gotta be able to adapt their production to our wishes in someway, somehow.

My wish for example is not a new feature, is an old one.
Can't be so difficult to reproduce those kind of things in a new content.

Well... tons of good ideas, 2K got to listen.
Better then ever! :D

Here's my Wishlist. I've tried to include suggestions I've seen posted in the community, and when I compile the list to send to the developers, I'll be sure to add items that have been posted here.

Key Points/Overview

  • Fix legacy issues in terms of bugs, gameplay, and game modes.

Gameplay

  • Reduce the amount of skating, while retaining the responsiveness of the controls.
  • Improve intelligence of AI teammates in MyCAREER.
AI opponents pick off passes like Michael Jordan in his prime, and have superhuman awareness and reflexes, even when their backs are turned.

  • Tone down the effectiveness of Takeover (if the mechanic is still in the game).

I get replicating the whole experience of playing at your local park, but it leads to a lot of standing around waiting, effectively simulating the most tedious part of any activity: waiting in line.
  • Tone down the effectiveness of Takeover (if the mechanic is still in the game).
  • Fix issues where VC rewards aren't given after participating in Neighborhood events.

  • Expand the total number of Created Player slots from 150; as many as possible.

I really don't konw if we have classic free throw routines as Rick Barry's underhand and Hal Greer's jump free throw shoot from the line.
We used to have those anomations in old 2K versions, i don't understand why 2K abandone some great features...

But, as a wishlist i 'think it's strong enough to be at least consider.

Re: Official NLSC Wishlist for NBA 2K20

Postby JEDL on Fri Feb 08, 2019 9:32 am

This is going to be the same post from a month ago that I made on a 2K20 wishlist on r/NBA2k with a few tweaks. Unfortunately none of my suggestions were forwarded or even considered (as evidenced on future wishlist threads) since the OP seems to be more concerned with the online players as opposed to sim guys like me. Anyway, the ones in bold are the ones I absolutely prefer to be implemented as soon as possible while the rest are simply grievances I can live with or are bearable enough for me to continue playing the game.

EDIT: Andrew, I hope I'm not too late in getting mine considered!

MyCAREER

  • Text-based- A text-based MyCAREER would be great as it can add more flexibility or even branching towards the storylines. I recall the best parts of the last-gen MyCAREER where the fact that you can come up with your own story instead of relying on others to tell the story for you. This alleviates the need to pay a voice actor and reduce cost and time giving the developers to focus on other aspects of the game. Just make sure its not too text-heavy like MyGM.

MyLEAGUE and MyGM:

  • Progression, Potential, Peak Start and Peak End- These have gone out of control as it has lead to a pretty inflated league of dozens (or close to a hundred) of players demanding 30+ mil per year contracts due to high their OVR are. Looking into the default rosters its due to the Peak Start and Peak End on most players. I understand the league is indeed getting better but this should not be happening within 3 seasons. Also, some G-League players even explode to 80+ OVR out of nowhere. For that one, I get they’re trying to emulate the careers of Hassan Whiteside, Danny Green, and etc. but this shouldn’t happen too often.
  • Head coaches get demoted- Head coaches should have the option to be an assistant if they have no offers as a head coach. We can do this with GMs who can be hired as Assistant GMs so having head coaches do this shouldn’t be too hard.
  • Allow for tendency changes- There must be a way for players to have their tendencies changed without manually doing it such as increasing/decreasing Shot Tendencies, Touches, Close/Under/Mid/3PT Tendencies.
  • Fix the the draft class randomisation- 80% of players look absolutely ridiculous, with questionable hairstyles, no eyebrows, or bad facial hair. I have detailed these issues with my fictional draft class series. Tendencies are random number generators, I’d at least expect these to mirror the 2K default roster tendencies but nope! I have seen “Scoring Wings” with less than 60 in shot tendencies and “Wing Defenders” having 70+ in shot tendencies in the same draft class. This is probably the only reason why I don’t play with MyGM at all since modifying drafted players are impossible without an external program/tool.
  • More player personalities and an addition of player-specific chemistry- It’d be cool if I could encounter a player like Melo who’d refuse to be a bench player, another player who’d insist on being the first or second scoring option, and maybe even player-to-player or player-to-coach beef occurring off the court. I’m not sure if this happens in MyGM but never in MyLeague.
  • Trades- Cash considerations and more pick specific protections. Also, Teams in real life have traded serviceable players away for second round picks, superstars have actually been traded (the CPU never allows their 90+ OVR player to be traded even if they’re rebuilding) and multi-team trades do occur but I have never seen the CPU attempt this at all.
  • Scouting- Eliminating overalls during the draft would be nice since all I can do is just draft the player with the highest OVR once I get my turn.
  • Minutes and Lineups- Some coaches should experiment with lineups and giving some players minutes. When a team stays relatively healthy, the 9th man or any player rated 72 and below will never get minutes. The starting lineup for every team will be the same for the season unless a trade or injury occurs or unless a bench player OVR isn’t too far from the poorly performing starter. Teams won’t even shake-up their lineup even when its disadvantageous for them. Currently, it's only the GMs which “tank” by signing F-rated coaches and signing bad players to get good draft picks but coaches on the other hand still put their best players on the floor.
  • Historical Draft Classes- It’s appreciated that they’ve been implemented into the game but they are terrible. Several draft classes end up having less than 10 players which is completely ridiculous. The older ones aren’t even era accurate as most of them are filled with a bevy of randomly generated modern perimeter-based players. You don’t necessarily have to use the players’ likeness but making fake players with similar skillsets would save a lot of people some time in modifying several years worth of draft classes.

Others

  • WWE 2K-esque Creation- 2K needs to copy the WWE 2K creation options for players. The current system is still very limited and despite the amazing effort of the community to try and make it work.
  • Improved 2K Share- Give us a better sorting system, previews or rating systems which will help us sort through the junk being uploaded. I’m tired of downloading files (which sometimes take minutes with my internet speed) only for the file to be disappointing while some uploads with actual effort get buried since 2K Share seems to favor the older files with more downloads.
  • Get rid of the Halftime Show- I understand that this one takes effort to implement into the game with the voice acting and all, but at least give us the option of skipping it for those who just want to play. I just ended up switching to Spanish commentary so I can go through the game quicker.
  • Quick Edit- Options for quick editing the body options (Wingspan, Body Length, Shoulder Width), signatures, contracts and accessories would be highly appreciated. It’d make the process of draft class/roster editing much much faster.

Overall Gameplay

  • Minor hold-ups- There was a tendency for everyone would just stand still during inbound until the commentators would finish their audio lines. Its minor but it's a bit annoying at times.
  • Improved passing interceptions- Sure on-ball steals have improved but pass interceptions have remained untouched. Too often I would see pass interceptions involving teammates running behind an opponent to allow steals.

Definitely not too late! Sorry to hear your suggestions were previously ignored; funnily enough, I just wrote about how the relationship between online and offline basketball gamers can be contentious in this week's Monday Tip-Off: https://www.nba-live.com/mto-online-vs- ... ll-gaming/

But yeah, around these parts at least, we want to do our best to give feedback for everything.

Awesome thanks! And that was a good read, you were spot on with the stuff you said with the gap and disconnect between the online and offline audience.

Although I do feel like 2K has been leaning more towards the online audience more considering their numbers and influencers on YouTube and social media. In fact, I don't think I've seen a polular YouTuber whose focus was MyLeague. I have no qualms with them though, I just don't like they're getting more attention.

Absolutely, there needs to be a balance, and it hasn't felt like it's there. Mind you, having played 2K Pro-Am the past few years, online has a lot of issues itself. Glad you enjoyed the article!

Wishlist for 2K20.

GAMEPLAY

Work on player movement: Incorporate foot planting that was so strong on 2K14 through 2K17. The new motion system has introduced skating/sliding/floating that is not only an incredible eyesore, but also impacts the on court feel and control. The new system also produced clunky change of direction, and random speed/acceleration breaks. Slow motion drives need to be looked at (When the defender is on your side). Layups need to be looked at, as players often take layups from far to deep, even though you yourself are trying to pull up for a jump shot.

*Nothing is more important than gameplay, and nothing is more important than player movement in a basketball title

Sound effects: The sound effects of the ball hitting the floor, or going through the hoop, and the rim sound effects, are all extremely poor. These elements done correctly can add excitement to the game, but the sound effects have not been good since 2K16. You can barely hear any of the above SFX, even with SFX turned up to 100. Crowd reactions are overall poor, as the crowd rarely gets immersed in the action until the last couple minutes of a close game. It would also be nice to hear more player chatter.

Ball mechanics: The ball reacts to the rim/net oddly, not realistic at all. Not only do you hardly ever have clean swishes, but the ball itself "Snuggles" into the hoop very often, like the rim itself is soft. Whether its on a close shot, or a three, you get the same reaction from the rim. The net also doesn't react realistically to the ball going through it.

Body blocks/steals: This is a legacy issue, and still a problem. It happens far to often in the game, yet rarely in real life.

Size-ups: It's great that the game has them, and it certainly adds to the authenticity, but the speed in which the players dribble during them is incredibly unrealistic. it is so fast, and seeing classic players from the 60's and 70's do it, looks even worse.

GRAPHICS:

Give the game more life: The graphics from the on court action standpoint (While you are playing) look washed out, and lack life. Many of the courts are the incorrect colors, and most crowds are darker than they should be.

Give the players more realistic bodies: Players still have a bit of a clay like, gumby look, as opposed to looking like athletes.

DEPTH:

No issues here, I want them to focus on the gameplay, and make some graphical tweaks.

I want to see more emphasis on players who have a good ability to "mesh" with other players vs players who are more individual focused. I.e. maybe a new attribute or badge called "harmony" or something. Example: Malcolm Brogdon has an IQ and perspective of the game that allows him to see the game from a 5vs5 scope. He glues in with any team because of this, and it positively affects winning. Whereas say someone like Dennis Smith is an amazing individual talent but he doesn't gel with players easily because his basketball team harmony ability is not high, and it affects winning. If everybody on the team has a high harmony rating then their CHEMISTRY is amazing, ball movement is well oiled and polished, crisp. Please introduce this element into the game. It has always been the secret sauce of a good NBA team.

It'd be cool to have a new attribute that dictates the animation speed of which a player goes from the catch to the shoot or the catch to the pass. I used to think that's what "hands" did, but apparently that's more to do with intercepting passes and/or catch success. It would create a noticeable difference between polished players and raw players, skill wise. And would affect offensive flow. Super polished players would go catch-BOOM. And super raw players would go more of a catch-gather-pass motion. It would also be good to be able to pass sooner after catching the ball than currently possible so that you can create crisper ball movement sequences. Right now it's a little slow for my liking. You could call it the attribute "polish". Or maybe you could call it "hands", and rename the current Hands to "catch".

Add some more body type editing, allow us to edit "chest protrusion" or "torso thickness". This would allow much more variety with bodytypes, particularly with generated rookies too. Right now we can't make big mass bodies. Also allow us to edit "neck thickness".

I'd like to see some stylistic camera stuff too to make it look more like an actual broadcast. I'm talking camera lens grain filters, focus depth blur, lens flares? Maybe some super subtle motion blur. I don't know the terminology but it needs to look more like an actual broadcast in terms of lighting and camera effects.

The replay system needs a revamp. I like to watch the replays of players in the boxscores at the end of the game. Lock the camera to the play rather than the ball. The camera gets too "stuck" to the ball and it looks silly (E.g. The camera doesn't need to bounce up and down along with the ball as a player is dribbling. It has been that way for 10 years, time to change it), a bit looser would be cool. Zoom the camera out a bit. Slow the replay speed down. Lengthen the replay. The replays need to show more than just the shot make, it needs to show what created it. Make the replays the same as they are in the NBA broadcasts. Also, i'd like to see replays in game more often than the "often" setting allows. The game is so beautiful, and i want to see it in slow motion cinematic styles. It would be cool to see highlights of fancy passes into a backdoor cut, or like a score that came from 3 quick passes / hockey assist type plays. Sweet layups and dunks should be in there too obviously. And blocks. And nice moves where the player makes a dribble move into a pullup jumper, or a fadeaway post shot. Things like that.

I'd like to see more stat overlays and things show on the screen that express the storyline of the game.

Mo-cap some more running style animations so that there are more than just 1 in the game. The same running style has been in 2K for like 10 years, it feels stale and doesn't look that realistic. They don't look like the world's best athletes, they look slow. Currently the heads of the players stay set at the same consistent height level during their whole run. A player's head should bop up and down as they sprint. Also, the motion of the run is too consistent. I feel like they should get little bursts every time their foot explodes off the ground for every step. Suggestion: The more athletic the player, the more explosive the foot speed bursts are. The less athletic they are, the more consistent the pace of their run (i.e. the foot bursts are less impactful/noticeable)

I would like to see life-like lighting in the game next year, in terms of arena atmosphere. To me that is killing immersion. Players currently look flat, visually. Where's the shine? There's a little bit, but for the most part a player's arm is the same colour all over, especially for lighter skin players. There needs to be more light and shade to create depth. The lighting element seems underdeveloped.

Separate online gameplay patch updates from offline gameplay.

^ If that post is too convoluted and you need dot points, here.

[*] An attribute or badge that dictates a player's ability to affect team flow / chemistry. Maybe a badge that that improves his teammate's Shot IQ and Hands or something.

[*] An attribute that dictates the animation speed of a catch-and-pass, or a catch-and-shoot. Maybe call it "polish".

[*] Add 2 more editable body type elements: Chest protrusion + neck thickness.

[*] Add a camera lens filter to make the game look more like a broadcast.

[*] New replay system. Make the camera less stuck to the ball, make it a bit looser. Zoom out a bit. Slow the replay speed down. Make it show more than just the shot make, make it show what created the shot too. Make replays happen more often than the "Often" setting allows. Make it more like NBA broadcast. Make it cinematic slow motion.

[*] I'd like to see more stat overlays and things show on the screen that express the storyline of the game more often.

[*] Mo-cap some more running style animations so that there are more than just 1 in the game. Players heads should be bopping up and down as they run, rather than be at a consistent height level. They should get little speed bursts every time their foot explodes off the ground for every step. Suggestion: The more athletic the player, the more explosive the foot speed bursts are and the more ground they cover. The less athletic they are, the more consistent the pace of their run and the less ground each foot launch covers (i.e. the foot bursts are less impactful/noticeable). Also they should lean forward when they sprint faster.

[*] More life-like lighting in the arena. Less flat, more depth. More light and shade. Players currently look flat visually. I.e. a player's arm is the same colour all over, especially for lighter skin players.

[*] Separate online gameplay patch updates from offline gameplay.

Dot points definitely help as far as compiling an easy-to-read list for the dev team, but I enjoyed the detailed thoughts as well. (Y)

MyLEAGUE:

More expansive scouting reports. I want to make tactical team-building decisions based on the words that i'm reading. Tell me about the kind of role they'll have in an NBA playset, in detail. If i'm a run and gun team i want to know if the big i'm scouting is a more of a post up player or a catch and shoot 3&D guy. What tendencies do they have that are relevant to their position? What tendencies do they have that make them unique? How could an NBA team use the player?

Playable training camp. Let me choose whether i want to use training camp to improve team chemistry OR develop young players. Or a combo of both. Whether you're rebuilding or contending will dictate the choice here. Let their be an option to play drills and it will have a lasting affect on the players. Make the affects big bigger than in past 2K's. Training camp should happen in the preseason rather than the offseason so that there is a "fresh start" feeling. Let there be an option to practice plays via scrimmages in the training camp screen.

Media integration. Add media entities that react to events/results within the game and also influence the players' morale and/or reputation in certain ways, affect fan opinions as well as paint the narratives of the NBA landscape to the user in more concise ways than social media is currently. There should be media entities/profiles (Reporters, Journalists, Analysts, TV personalities) in the same where there is a staff profile. The medias should have different editable ratings. The medias purpose is to express the game's algorithms and storylines to the user. (social media is too saturated to do this well). Specific player personalities should interact with the media in different ways. The media should be a heavy focus of the menu interface.

Playable draft workouts. Allow us to connect with the prospects in actual gameplay. Make it so playable workouts provide more information in game too. Give us a solid amount of workouts. Maybe 10. Most NBA teams have like 30-40 after all. This should be what gives us data on prospects, rather than the current way. Seeing the data after playing with them feels much more natural rather than just pushing a button and then there's a bunch of information for names you don't have a connection with.

Player relationships/affinities. Add an extra tab in the player profile section called Relationships or Affinities, this is where you keep track of the affinity levels the player is accumulating with other players, staff, teams, and media members. E.g. When 2 players spend an entire season together then their affinity levels go up. If a coach wont give a player the playing time his OVR deserves then their affinity levels go down. If 2 players are competing for the same spot in the roster then their affinity levels go down. If a player has a "friendly" badge then he is easy to build an affinity level with. If reserved then harder. If a media member criticizes a player then his affinity level for that media level goes way down. A player might be with a team for 5+ years and develop a 100% affinity with the team and be more likely to work for them as a staff member after he retires. Player affinity levels with each other and the coach directly affect team chemistry a lot! It also would affect players with a high Loyalty rating, in terms of who they see as worth being loyal to. Certain personality traits should work well together (easier to accrue affinity), some should not. Some players might already have relationships from high school or college.

Expand player personalities. Add more theatre, depth and authenticity to the game with added player personality traits. The added player personality traits are directly tied to Affinities which is tied to team chemistry. This is the secret sauce of building a winning team.
Personality style/type suggestions:
-Professional (focused, values work and success, probably a basketball lifer, respects the game)
-Spirited (more emotional, probably likes to laugh, soulful and charismatic, values bigger picture of life's journey)
-Tough (likes to assert will, probably talks trash and stares people down, values domination, more of a fighter)
-Respectful (more of a chiller, values relationships, more of a lover)
^That would probably cover it if you want to keep it simple (And if a player has none of those traits then they could just be "Balanced"). So "Tough" types probably aren't develop affinity with "respectful" types easily, but they might get along with Professional types well enough. Professional types might not vibe with Spirited types, but might be okay with the other 2. Etc.

Playing time should affect progression more. It should be harder to develop and reach your potential if you're a 12th man. Adversely, players who are given big minutes (i.e. lets say more MPG than their OVR deserves) should be able to reach or exceed their potential. Don't overpower it, just make it more of a factor than it is now. It would add the element of "farming" players.

A player's desire for playing time needs to be a factor in the game. It's such a huge force in the NBA. It dictates how much a player is willing to sacrifice for the team, or whether they're more interested in proving/establishing themselves. And it should be a dynamic rating that changes over time. I.e. young players with star ambitions and veteran ring chasers.

Coach systems and styles should directly affect individual player tendencies. In the NBA coaches have a huge influence on a player's production.

FTA's in sim stats among league leaders are too low. The best players in the NBA get 8-10 FTA. The highest in ML is around 7 FTA.

Include coach badges in MyLeague

Add 2 more attributes to coaches. Player development + Relationships. Player development affects attribute development in young players in training. Relationships affects team chemistry.

Good team chemistry should be a little more elusive than it is now. Having a high team chemistry should be a bit more of a rare and valuable occurance. That said, when it is high it should really have a noticeable positive affect.

Add a magazine or media article that comes out every month or week that summarizes/expresses the league's events. In words, not numbers.

Hire more testers to curate feedback and catch bugs before you publish the game.

Add ML sliders that allow us influence simulated stats.

It'd be cool to get more insight into WHY a player's morale is up or down. Most of the time you have to guess. The player's 'thoughts' tab isn't very telling.

A ML slider that influences the likelihood of a team trading a player with low morale. Teams don't seem to take any action of disgruntled players. Would like to be able to alter that myself.

Generated draft players still need work. Focus on creating specific identities and archetypes. It's still a little random and nonsensical.

More stat overlays during the game that display storylines and stats from the season that show during the game. Team PPG ranks, team RPG, all that, also player averages, and news headlines.

I also think that 2K could make easier to edit and add some other ingame features, like songs for example.

I know that the game comes with a original soundtrack from factory, but why not make easier for patchers to edit those soundtracks? Like let all song files at MP3 format or other commons formats for further editions.
Better then ever! :D

Let us enable player introductions for every game! They are one of the coolest parts of an NBA game. I want to see my players enter the court and hear their names...and not be forced to listen to David Aldrige talk about something I am not that interested in.

Our NBA 2K20 Wishlist has been finalised, submitted, and can be found in the first post. Thanks to everyone who contributed!

While we won't be adding anything else to the official list, we'll be leaving this topic open for further discussions and supplementary suggestions that we can pass along or direct the developers' attention to. Once the preview season for NBA 2K20 gets underway, the topic will be closed to avoid confusion, but discussion of what we're hoping to see will still be most welcome here in the Forum.

I hope this year 2k stop being lazy about retro gear content and roster. I want full retro benc roster.don't wanne see random created james I wanna see jason caffey, randy brown, malik rose chris childs in bench.full proper gear of every year's era's teams.I don't wanna see current jazz jersey on the 98 jazz crowd.

I don't wanna see current denver warm up on 90's nuggets.

and I hope 2k20 will be more mod friend.I frustrated whenever trying to edit something or searching files in a content mess to edit.every year change something to make harder to make mods.

and more retro teams like 98 hawks, 2001-2003 jordan wizards team etc.

I miss the old 2ks like 13 14. you can full access almost everything to edit.and convertable face one from to another.
