The atmosphere's somehow changed. I could be wrong tho.

As expected same look, just different roster.
I really hate 2K's jerseys in the game. It looks too cartoonish. It lacks details and is too bright.
That's why I prefer Live's jersey and lighting.
I agree with the arena atmosphere, it looks like it has been improved a bit.

Nice to get something this early, even if there isn't too much to glean from it.

Except that one picture seems to be taken during the gameplay while the other picture during a time out.

I mean, it's not the exact same scenario, but it's still an in-game screenshot from NBA 2K19 to compare with an in-game screenshot from NBA 2K20. It is taken earlier on in the game so there's an obvious difference in the sweat effects, but as far as lighting and whatnot are concerned, it's suitable for comparison.

Stadium is much brighter. You can actually see the crowd. AD's hair is shorter, but can't say whether or not it's more detailed. Reflections are different, but it might be because of the sweat effect.

Just a friendly reminder that this was last year’s first look screenshot. They doctor the images a bit whereas Andrew’s 2k19 picture comes raw gameplay.

I think graphically it’s going to be more of the same as 2k19.

Good point, and probably a better point of reference.

There is a bit of an improvement in the skin color. Only problem is that it is the same model as last year.
Hoping for updated player tattoos for players that have them.
I hate 2K not updating players thru patch in 2K19 (they do update them but not as much as EA does it on NBA Live.) Best example is Jordan Clarkson in 2K19 and Live 19 after the last patch.

I have a feeling tattoos are always going to be a problem after the lawsuit a few years ago.

Which is odd because some got their tattoos updated and some did not. Like Gary Trent Jr had his tattoos scanned in but Ray spalding didn’t. I wonder what the distinction is as to why some get it and others don’t.

Whether or not it's a copyrighted image and the artist wants compensation, I'd say. That was the point of contention that brought about the lawsuit.

2K prefer update MyTeam, more money. Pa$$ion.

The players are exactly the same, just some changes on LeBron. They need to improve the details on the jerseys and faces/bodys like they start 2 years ago with the scars. Since few years on 2K, the players looks like wax statues

All I see is a slightly brighter image for 2k20, everything else is the exact same. AD sleeves are still way to long and he is the cover guy you think they’d get it right

Is this a place we can generally discuss 2k20? Because if so, I’d like to talk about challenges. There’s no way 2k has time to implement this right? This would be a major addition and an overhaul of the replay system. If it was implemented there’s no way it can be functional. Thoughts?

We could probably split that off into its own topic, but yeah, I imagine that'd be very difficult to implement.

I thought the same thing about Madden where challenges have become actually pretty decent. They've managed to add random scenarios where refs "mess up" or simply Miss calls and that allows you the chance to challenge. Considering there are potentially 8 challenges per game, it is an important part of a football game especially when timeouts are super valuable late-game

I totally think that implementation would be possible but I think it’s just too short notice currently. Ultimately, it would be little more than a quick time event where the one “randomly” challengeable event occurs and you have to use your challenge. Not to mention it’s a new set of animations more than likely. I think Madden does a good job but they’ve had years to refine it.

This is what I hate about 2K with their NBA games. Since they know nobody can beat them unless EA made a huge leap of gameplay improvements in their game. 2K will just do the same. Update superstars or known players and don't care about the others. And I agree all they care about is how to get more money with the gamers.

As for tattoos, if some are copyrighted images/tattoos they could just do what they do to WWE 2K games. Put a place holder tattoo. Just like how they did it with CM Punk's Pepsi and Cobra tattoo.

IIRC Carmelo still has all the tattoos minus the copyrighted one.

Can you imagine, if 2k got everything right graphically, I mean that is the point right. With so many modders being picked up by these developers, that should be the case at some point. Then all the modding community will have to do is Tattoo updates.

This showed up, reportedly taken from Instagram of some celebrity.

It's on Xbox Dev Kit (Xbox One dev kit to be precise) and one thing of note there is that the contest in that build is shown in percent rather than more vague verbal values.
