2K20 or 2K21 | PC

Talk about NBA 2K20 here.

2K20 or 2K21 | PC

Postby Blue on Fri Dec 11, 2020 1:54 pm

Recently I bought 2K20 from the steam sale 92% off, which saves me a lot of money.
And, 2K21 is currently sale 50% in steam now. Still thinking whether should I stick with 20
or get myself a present for this upcoming Christmas, a new and a latest one.

I actually deciding and still analyzing comparing both in terms of gameplay.
Well, whether am still curious of how the new mechanics work and especially
MyCareer and other Stuff. The sale only lasts for about 5 days from now.

I really think that 2K20 has still better community more specifically in modding.
And, that's the reason that I'm still struggling to make up my mind.
However, though my interest with the latest game hypes me up to discover new things.

What do you guys think?
Any personal opinions either suggestions greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you found some good deals regardless.

I mean, 2K20 has more mods right now, but as you can see plenty is being made for 2K21. Some people are bringing 2K20 up to date by making cyberfaces of rookies from scratch, and doing conversions from 2K21 as well. However, you may not have a full release as quick as you may like, as conversions and faces, as well as other aspects do take work.

Gameplay wise, I think 2K20 might be a little more well rounded. 2K21 has a slight advantage with dribbling mainly because it uses the traditional size up system. I have gameplay videos of both 2K20 and 2K21 on my youtube, here are a few of them.

If you are interested in retro, more retro mods and rosters exist for 2K20. If you are looking to get up to date FAST though (As in, you are interested in the most up to date rosters because your priority is the now NBA), it may be worth giving 2K21 a look.

I know Andrew enjoyed NBA 2K20 for the most part.

Truth indeed, I've heard from people that it is most likely not far different to be identical between these two.
And, dribbling also got me curious cause they bring back the tradition one, then the new updated players and roster.

I would recommend NBA 2K20 over NBA 2K21 from a gameplay standpoint. Of course, if you can get NBA 2K21 at a good price and you've got a collector's mentality like I do, I wouldn't blame you for picking it up and checking it out to see if it resonates with you. If you have any interest in MyTEAM, then you've obviously got to go with NBA 2K21 for new content. It does sound like you'll be happy with NBA 2K20 though, especially with it still having a very active modding scene.

Not gonna lie, I'm really impressed with the 2K20 modders as of now.
Though, right now that deal from the steam really got me.

I have both and 2k20 all day. I play both on superstar difficulty and hitting jumpers is too hard in 2k21. It’s very frustrating. I still win but i just drive to the rim all the time. It’s very boring.
