I have been running into this since trying to port my College Mod Art over to 2K20. Replacing some textures in the .iffs can cause 2k to crash after opening. Looks like this is because the next .TXTR files have extra lines of code. Removing these extra lines of code in the .TXTR files will let the .dds load like normal. I can finally start to port my files over lol. I found this on the EYEUC site just sharing with my people over here. I've tested it with the bootup.iff files which just crashes if you swap out the .dds files inside.
Remove the following lines in the .TXTR files and resave and place back into the .iff archive. (use Notepad++ to open the .TXTR files)
