Players like Jrue Holiday have this random usage of not headband, headband, ninja tie. If we somehow could discover the pattern 2K uses to interchange this, we would have a solution.
We also have a "blond" configuration. Kuzma and another guy from Brooklyn Nets have that blonde hair look from time to time. Weird pattern.

I think it's controlled by a parameter in the roster.

It's been about 6 months but I think that hairstyle parameter may be controlled by the headband options.
In current gen there are multiple headband options (hidden for real players). Some players hair change with a headband.

In next gen there is a "hairstyle" option where the headband option would be.
On some players there is no alternate hairstyle but "hairstyle" options equips a headband or fury.

I'm thinking that it works the same way in current gen as next gen for players with multiple hairstyles.
If we change the headband designation in game by using cheat engine or looyh's tool, then the hairstyles should even if the player doesn't wear a headband.

*Note that the 2K19 version will not work in 2K20. If you intend to use both versions for both the games, it's the same folder. Just drag both the exe files into the same folder.
