Hopefully bongo88 will get the game and help me / us in this specific area....

Well, even with the amazing humble bundle deal 2k20 for $20.00, I just can't justify purchasing a game that i do not think I will enjoy. the "Gameplay Improvements" are just not enough to lure me back in.

Anyways, I never dug into the animations for any 2k games .... perhaps trevor can look at the blender scripts .... i never dug into them

I can do animations in the skyrim modding scene - they have some has tutorials, but the actual blender rigging was done by only a few individuals... perhaps those skyrim links/scripts will help set up the blender 2k ones
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwHsUAUWxfU (skyrim youtube tutorial)
https://www.loverslab.com/topic/118617- ... at-se-wip/ (loverslab tutorial .... Warning: Website Very NSFW don't stray too far if you have no idea what skyrim modders have accomplished.)

..... lol, sorry, got distracted by 2k14 animations posts.... lol, y'all had a bunch of drama back then.
You could reach out to Seushir0 or Gamez or Devilish .... From the few posts that i read about 2k11 - 2k14 animation moddings... the skeletons were compatible and seemed to be able to interchange within games
I couldn't get the animation.iff to open in 2k12 tools/3dm tool... not sure how they were extracting them...
But, seems like they were imported into blender and sped up/ slowed down / frame froze... possibly other tricks... didn't read too much.
How y'all interacted with these folks and never asked for a tutorial.... sigh... Parlor vs Cathedral Modding

anyways, good luck, these tools look pretty neat... if 2k21-2k23 next gen are dissapointing, i might come back to 2k20 in a few years ... with the tools here, it has the potential of 2k14 modded longevity.

but yeah, stay safe among this Pandemic

Strange. The 2K17 tool I am using that works for 2.79 is not working for 2.82, wonder why.

And yeah, I prefer 2.79 as well.

Would you guys like me to go in and update the plugin to work for all games 2K17 and up, as well as Blender 2.79, 2.80, 2.81, 2.82 ? I thought I had, but I must have have remembered wrong.

Please do it
I tried to have an easy way to convert 2K17 models but the results are, broken model with mouth cavity way low. I think not only has to do with the uv layout, but also with the face and vertex quantity, which was like 1/3 of the faces and vertex right now, and I don't know why, 2K17 cfs even look better in game in some cases.

Hey so I'm not sure what everybody is doing when it comes to lining up the eyes and mouth after converting, but I think I found a way to make it an exact science that doesn't require any manual moving/sculpting of anything in Blender.

Followed the method outlined in TGSoGood's tutorial to do the conversion but did my own adjustments for the eyes and mouth afterwards. This is a Young 76ers Wilt made by R4zor for 2K19 that I just converted.

I have a blender addon that was originally intended for use with my (now outdated) CF conversion kit that basically auto-adjusts the UV for the head shape of a 2K17 player to that of a 2K20 player. While it's an approximation and not exact due to the differing face counts between 2K17 and 2K20 players, it saves a bunch of time and should give a good baseline result.

I think I’m going to try to convert R4zor’s Dale Davis from 2k19. Let me know if anyone else is already trying that specific cyberface, so I don’t waste my time

My conversions for R4zor's 2k19 mods always seem to come out with really messed up eyes. At least Mookie and Dale Davis did. Maybe I got unlucky with choosing two of his that require a lot of adjusting after

I threw a video together real quick regarding the method I described above. Just a warning: it is definitely a little tedious but if you really want to ensure your results are solid then it’s worth it IMO.

Is it possible to convert facialhair and hair from 2k18 to 2k20 for a current player?

Any chance you could do 2K16 and up?

Sorry for this request, but I have a mod I'd like to finish on 2K16 and conversions going backwards to it would be huge (2K20, 2K19, 2K18, 2K17 ---> 2K16)

Yeah lemme look into that, might as well extend it to be applicable to 2K16 so nobody is having to enable/disable multiple blender addons at once.

Hey trevor, this tool you have for the NBA 2K16 conversions, "Match up UVs", could this tool somehow help me to convert UV layouts from 2K16-17 to 20?

I was thinking the same thing, but unfortunately it looks like it won't end up helping us with the new method of conversions.

The "matching up" or "fixing" of uvs needed to be done because the old method combined together the contents of a 2K16(17) player with a 2K20 player - the offset and scale values were different between the two. But we are not doing that with the new method.

@go7denboot
what i do is same process in putting new hair and beard to a 2k20 model, just drag and drop the file from 2k18 and just adjust it in blender to fit it.

These conversions are working great.

However, I am doing 2K17 to 2K20 conversions at the moment, and have the eyes exactly where I want them in the model. However, in game the eyes look good from straight on, but are not "set" in his head, which is pushing them to the left and right outside of his head when on the floor.

Any trick to getting the eyes to remain "set" in the head and not move around?

Are you using the new method via the mesh data transfer plugin for your 2K17 conversions?

It would probably help to edit the skeleton with the latest version of the blender importer/exporter (skeleton export supported). Your other option would be to move the rest of the head to where the eyes are showing up.

D, that usually happens when the eyes are taking way off from his original position. What I do to be sure is, once I have the new model ready, I import again the original model, and compare the eyes position (X,Z and principally Y). If they too much far from his original position, I move all the new head to the point it gets closer or almost at the same Y,Z,X position as original eyes are,

And by the way, when you convert 2K17 faces, you said it's going great. How is it going with the mouth cavity? Is it good at the position he should be, or is it below, because that's what happens to me with all the one that I tried. Also, eyes and ears don't glitch?
