Shady's NBA 2K21 G.O.A.T. Edition Sliders 1.29

Postby ShadyMikeGaming on Sat Nov 07, 2020 3:27 am

What's going on guys its your boy Shady Mike Gaming AKA #SliderGOD and welcome to the best ever. This was one of the hardest years ever developing sliders because 2K21 launched in such a poor state but we still killed it and came out with an awesome set that plays great! We built this from the ground up and I am so excited to share this set with you guys and trust me its going to be WORTH it. So far I have 487 hours played in NBA 2K21 and all of it was spent trying to improve this game for the community and I know you guys are going to LOVE what I came up with!

Ok so with this slider set I set out to fix 3 main issues with the game:

1. Transition defense - Transition defense in 2K21 default is god awful my goal was to create exciting, organic, transition play. We've done that.

2. Shot Contests - Again this is more of a philosophical difference between me and 2K but this is the NBA and I have maintained my motto that the PRESENCE of a defender does not equate to "good defense" the NBA is all about hitting tough shots and both you AND the CPU will be able to hit tough shots (with the right players of course)

3. CPU Paint Attack / 3 point shooting - Now this is more of a tendency issue and its never going to be 100% fixed with sliders but on default the CPU attacks the paint at a ridiculous pace and obviously does not shoot anywhere near enough 3's...I've done my best to remedy this as much as possible with Sliders...and while I think you guys will be happy with what I came up with the set would be even better with a great roster with some tendency edits.

I'll try your tendency sliders with mine to see if it fixes some things, but the acceleration at 0 is definitely a must. I had it at 0 for a month now trying to clean up some of the jerky animations and you can notice a difference. I don't know if I could go 100 for the other acceleration sliders because there's definitely flaws on both sides of the ball with acceleration.

like in this clip: https://twitter.com/i/status/1323793104718221312

I also believe fatigue and stamina don't matter much, it's just there to slow down the animations making the game feel more sluggish. I did it in 20 and still had realistic results in every category, + - stat feels like it matters more.

Good stuff though, I did peep the video.

What would be the sliders for the 70's 80's or 90's?

It's really hard to get any sort of consistency with player movement the last two years with 2k. Movement with the engine is just bruk.

I've been switching between both your slider sets to find a good medium. the transition defense on default is dread but i find the ball handling too slow as a consequence. I do like to play on-ball defense so been trying to adjust as the players get left behind way too easily like their foot gets stuck on the line.

Appreciate the time put in fellas!

Best sliders every year shady. Thanks man!

Also, these actually plug in to next-gen pretty nicely as well.

Rebounding...how to reduce the number of rebounds? Usually 3-4 players reach 10 rebounds and some of them reach 15 and more rebounds.
Why alley-ooping is so buggy? Players are almost free but PG alley-ooping the ball like a hot potato, very inaccurately. CPU at all don't throw alley-oops. How to fix this?

Still have the same issues as before. Stopping run outs are still a problem, nobody gets back on D.

The leakouts are a 2k problem in general more than a slider fix, the CPU AI is still just as dumb as ever it seems

Trust me I plan to as soon as my sliders are done I am going to take a deep look into those and try to integrate. This next set is not going to disappoint however.

There are multiple reasons for the rebounding issue. Yes its because some players never come in the paint but its also due to the following things:

-Not enough 3 pointer, missed 3 pointers cause balls to more often bounce away more resulting in more rebounds for players not standing in the paint
-too many possesions Basically the game is played to fast leading to more points and rebounds for that matter
-not enough fouls less fouls means more rebounds
-not enough turnovers

Changing these things will already make quite the difference. Some of these issues can not be tackled by the sliders only since they already have reached their limit in many of these things. Thats why it takes a mod like Aliwei together with these sliders to make a difference. Try it out its very good together.
