Year 7-8 NOW RELEASED!

Features:

- 62+ players per draft class, all of them with custom-made fictional cyberfaces made by me. Beards & arm tattoos often included!
- All player attributes are based on real players' DNA, with some tweaks to make them unique and to balance out the talent distribution. This means everyone will have sensible tendencies, rather than a random nonsensical mess that doesn't match with their attributes.
- I do my best to get rid of nonsensical accessories (e.g. straps over leg sleeves)
- There will be valuable role players to be found in the 2nd round of the draft. Even players with low ratings can be reliable contributors.
- There will be busts - players that peak early, ball hawks with good individual stats but bad team play. It's up to you to identify them and avoid them.

How to install:

1) If you don't have it yet, install the NBA 2K21 Hook with External File feature:

2) Download the cyberface pack (download link below) and extract it to .../NBA 2K21/Mods/

3) Search for the draft class in-game either by Online ID (Jeek) OR by Content Name (Fictional With Faces Yr1 / Fictional With Faces Yr2 / ... / Fictional With Faces Yr8)

Edit: My bad, in my OP I said I was making the faces in 2K19 when I meant 2K20. Sorry about that!

Are you sure about that / have you already checked? I know it's been like that in previous years, but I believe that's because 2K went back and re-analyzed all of their raw head scans for extra detail. I doubt they did that this year for last-gen, when they had their hands full with the new version, so I'd say there's a good chance the format on PC will be the same as 2K20. Guess I'll find out later today after work

Either way I have a backup solution.

I'm working on a tool for exporting cyberfaces using the mix-and-match method. For each of the cyberfaces I've made, I've saved what I like to call a "Recipe" (the Recipe is a list of CFIDs that the face is made of - the source of the head shape, of the skin, of the hair, of the beard and of the tattoo). My tool can fetch the referenced cyberfaces directly from the game files, assemble the mixed cyberface and export it to the waigua folder. So as long as the cyberfaces whose models & textures I used are still in the game, I should be able to re-export them in 2K21 format.

I'd like to release the tool to the public as soon as I ensure it works with 2K21.

Small update: After having some trouble with a dying HDD, I'm back on track now.

2K21 has been having a rough start: 2K servers don't let us download draft classes, and MyLeague probably won't be worth playing until free agency is over, due to inaccurate rosters.

As far as I know, there is no tool as of yet for assigning cyberface ID (such as limnono trainer), but I'm sure it's coming soon.

In the meantime, here are some new faces:

How many players did you/are you putting in each draft? I did the same thing for 2k20. Had 9 Years worth of draft classes with mix and match parts. It's nice to see someone with a like-minded approach. As a heads up from my personal experiences though, if you're using tattoos you should keep track of which players you got them from so you don't reuse the same ones. Anyways, glad you're doing this as I'll likely just download yours this year instead of making my own.

Good question, I'm gonna add this info to the first post.

Year 1 has 62 players, I might even add a handful more; years 2 and 3 will have 60+ players as well. I'm a fan of drafts classes where second round picks can be valuable too, and even players with low OVR ratings can be contributors. So I definitely prefer depth over quantity.

As a heads up from my personal experiences though, if you're using tattoos you should keep track of which players you got them from so you don't reuse the same ones.

No worries, I'm keeping track of everything each player is made of, and I remove the "used parts" from the pool I'm choosing from.

9 years is a LOT! Did you make all those faces by hand? And how many faces per class? Edit: Found your post saying 75 faces per draft. That's pretty impressive.

I'm using a tool that can export 50+ faces at once (custom, not released yet), and yet I wouldn't dream of making 9 classes! 90% of the faces I generate are unusable (I try to only handpick the best ones). I'm aiming for 3 draft classes, I'll see if I want to continue after that.

I'd love to hear more details about your method.

Announcement!

Year 2 is almost ready for release with 69 players, headlined by point guard Wil Braxton, who many (fictional) fans consider the second coming of Derrick Rose:



Braxton is pretty special to me. He's based on a memorable 2K-generated player that took over the Brooklyn Nets in one of my MyLeague playthroughs a few years ago (it was before , and he turned them into a worthy rival of my team. I'm happy to say that I've managed to re-create his face exactly as I remember it, and with Derrick Rose's DNA, he's got a good chance at becoming the face of a franchise again. The rest is up to the Boom-or-Bust system, I guess
