Thanks! Quick fixes for both versions (not sure which one you're using):
v1.0 (i.e., the SI version): https://www.mediafire.com/file/exxxsmrx5sm8wit/MyL_SMO_QuickFix_v.1.0.2.zip/file
v1.1 (i.e., the more stable version w/ SI switched back to 2K): https://www.mediafire.com/file/hcde3wpjmk6vyfe/MyL_SMO_QuickFix_v1.1.1.zip/file

Vetmin, I have to say that this has to be one of those changes that oddly adds so much by taking away just a few simple things. I find myself way more engaged with calls that happen during the course of the game with your changes implemented. Edit: I figured out how to do it with other scoreboards so its nice to have an alternative to them pending on if I want the info or not!

Dropping a question since since you guys tackled modding the Starting Lineup graphic, or even tried to mod in a such a way that the Starting Lineup Portraits will always be shown every game, instead of just showing Starting lineups in Text. (startinglineupoverlay.iff, etc)
Is there a way to always show(or maybe "play"?) the AWAY and HOME starting lineup intros every start of a game?
That's the intro where the stadium announcer introduce each player of each team.
There's a version too where ONLY the starting lineup of the HOME team gets the spotlight introduction.
Preferred is that both AWAY and HOME gets shown/introduced.
THANKS y'all!

I haven't. Does anything come up in the Hook's file log when that segment (visually contained in animatedsting.iff) runs? I haven't paid much attention to audio outside of *.iff files since I have no idea how to mod it.

New mod...
Been meaning to post this for like a month and a half. Sorry for the delay. I attempted to improve upon this converted version of a scorebug originally by looyh (initially converted by 半杯可乐):
https://www.2kspecialist.net/2021/02/nbc-scoreboard-by-looyh-converted-to.html
https://www.shuajota.com/2021/02/nba-2k21-nbc-scoreboard-by-looyh.html
Preview of my tweak compared to the earlier conversion:
DOWNLOAD: https://www.mediafire.com/file/4gz3q25hwkxmh8z/vetmin+-+Fixed+conversion+of+looyh+NBC+scoreboard.7z/file
Obviously credit to looyh for the phenomenal work on the original scoreboard, and credit to 半杯可乐 for the initial conversion to 2k21/22.
The main thing I did was just fix some out-of-place text. There are two versions of the scoreboard: (1) the recommended version without notifications and (2) a version with notifications. I dislike the way that the notifications pop out to the left of the scoreboard, where they often collide with stat overlays. Combine that with the fact that foul, timeout, etc. notifications tend not to happen in real broadcasts, which focus on the broadcasters / PA communicating the calls, and it was an easy decision to remove the notifications. The notifications in the 'with-notifications' version are as-is from 半杯可乐's conversion of the looyh original.
The mismatched font of the away score cannot be fixed in the scorebug directly; you must use the english.iff packaged with rtomb_03's Next Gen Scoreboard -> viewtopic.php?f=272&t=112954. Credit rtomb_03 for his work on the font situation. Note that if you already use an english.iff that has been modded in other ways and you don't want to overwrite it, you can just drag and drop all of the *.FONT2 and *.font files from his english.iff into your existing english.iff. Note as well though that other scoreboards will have converted fonts too once you make these changes, so if you only want them to apply to this NBC scoreboard, then keep your next-gen-font english.iff in whatever folder you're putting this NBC scorebug in, rather than your general Mods folder. (Just make the NBC folder has priority to override your general Mods folder though in that case.)
One other I did is remove the colon (i.e., : symbol) from the shot clock, since IMO it looks awkward when time runs out and there is just this bare colon sitting there. I only made this edit to the 'without-notifications' version though, so if that's the version you're using, but you want the colon back, then drag Looyh_clock_bg.dds and Looyh_clock_bg_hover.dds from the 'with notifications' version into the 'without notifications' version you're using. Likewise, if you're using notifications, but you want to remove the colon, drag those two *.dds files from the 'without notifications' version into the 'with notifications' version you're using.
WARNING: I did not test the playoffs, as I personally use TNT and ESPN presentations in the post-season. Hopefully it looks OK.
vetmin wrote:hehedon wrote:Sorry for this Noob question but how to hex edit TEXT.VCLOCALIZEDATA? Thanks!
It's not a n00b question! I was recently asked this by someone via PM, so I'll copy & paste what I wrote (it's a little bit stream-of-consciousness but hopefully helpful):
I'm not aware of any tutorials re: TEXT.VCLOCALIZEDATA. Mahmood pointed me in the right direction in this thread -> viewtopic.php?f=272&t=113155 ... and I just tinkered from there. The hex editor I use is Hex Workshop Hex Editor (http://www.hexworkshop.com/history/6_80/). It was the first one I tried, but I like it. Basically all you have to do is...
1. Extract TEXT.VCLOCALIZEDATA from english.iff so that you have a copy to work with.
2. Open it up in Hex Workshop (note that after installing Hex Workshop, whenever you right click a file in Windows Explorer there is an option to "Hex Edit with Hex Workshop v.#.#", which is super convenient! [META NOTE: In Windows 11 this is under Show More Options when you right-click a file]). After opening it'll look something like this:
3. Make sure the language is set to Unicode (in the screenshot above, see the dropdown menu below the little binoculars in the upper toolbars).
4. That general area in the middle is your main editing area. It has the Unicode data on the left (stuff like "8957 1400 0000 0000") and the actual readable translation on the right (initially it's a bunch of nonsense but if you scroll down you'll see all sorts of random text from the game).
5. As an example of editing, here is how I changed Allie LaForce's last name. First I hit Ctrl + F, then did this:
6. Here is after I clicked "OK":
...You see it found 1 instance of "LaForce", so that's obviously the right one. If there's more than one instance of something, there'll be a list of results, and clicking on each one will take you right to it.
7. Here you will see me editing her name to be Allie LeHorse.
8. VERY IMPORTANT: In the thread I linked above, you'll see Mahmood and I had a quick exchange about whether text can be added or only replaced. Text can ONLY be replaced. By default, when you click in the text area and start typing, it replaces rather than adds (kind of like in Word when you hit the Insert key and start typing before an existing sentence, it replaces the characters rather than adding to them), so unless you go out of your way to right click and Insert new bits, you should be good. Also, text strings are separated by periods. Do not replace those, unless the period is clearly part of the text string itself (like "What a game. That was an instant classic!" ... in which case the period after "game" does not have to be preserved). It's usually pretty obvious. I also don't touch it wherever 2K has input some formula in a message, like "[UPPER-CASE PLAYER NAME] STINKS!" I'll edit "STINKS" but I leave the formulas alone, personally, just to be safe. If you're changing a word or phrase to something shorter, you have to use empty spaces to fill out the dead space until the period. Like, when I changed Allie LaForce's name to Doris Burke, I had to add 2 spaces after Burke because LaForce is 2 characters longer:
Note that "LaForce" was easy to edit because there was only one instance of it in the entire game text. This was a lot trickier for David Aldridge because there are obviously many "David"s and "Aldridge"s in the game. It is not always obvious which instances of a particular word correspond to which ones in the game. To give you one humorous example, I'm currently in the process of doing a big social media overhaul [META NOTE: now available!!! ], and I changed the social media guy "Lance Fresh" to something else, like maybe it was "NBA on ESPN"... then in-game I randomly noticed players whose fatigue levels were " ESPN" because the game derives its text for a zero-fatigue player from that specific segment of the file (i.e., "Fresh"). I'm sure that that text mapping was done through an automated process designed to eliminate unnecessary text repetition, but it's something to be aware of when editing. For the pre-game sideline reporter interviews, I do know exactly where David Aldridge's "David" is, but I don't actually know which "Aldridge" is mapped to his last name in that pop-up. It's not either of the ones explicitly connected to his name in TEXT.VCLOCALIZEDATA; it's actually one of the ones associated with LaMarcus Aldridge, though I narrowed it down to 10 or so LaMarcus Aldridge-related strings that are irrelevant to MyLeague players (i.e., random MyCareer dialogue, I think a quiz question, and the titles of various LaMarcus Aldridge jerseys that you can buy for your MyPlayer, I think). I just changed them all using Ctrl + H, though I was sure to test in-game that LaMarcus Aldridge's name is still correct (and that the name "David" is also handled correctly, and also "Aldridge" in the abstract, like if you just a name a guy that).

Mahmood wrote:I'm VERY late to the party on this, but you can actually add extra characters onto phrases. This is only barebones for now, but Psamyou'll and I figured out that if you put a certain number of periods (which represent the data) at the end of the string, you can make it any length you'd like. (Of course, at the loss of the other string ahead of it, but good if it's an unused one) I can't give a good tutorial now, but Psam and I will be putting out a Modder's Handbook that has info on all of this stuff, much similar to the Scne guide.
Mahmood wrote:sticky-fingers wrote:by any chance, have you find the music/voice with NBA/2K Sports logo before a quick game ?
The sound file for that is a .RESA in the global.iff, ALL of the menu noises are in there too with it! Easily editable if you know the 2K17 Explorer method. I was working on an unannounced mod a few months ago where I had swapped out some of the legacy menu sounds for new noises and even the perfect release sound effects. Once you get RESA editing down to a science you can get some truly good results. If anyone needs help, hit me up. Down to divulge any needed info. Love what you've been doing here too, Vetmin, need more people in the community like you.
