Set resolution not working?

Postby donkey33 on Tue Apr 14, 2020 12:03 am

Hi all,

I'm having trouble setting the resolution for a fresh NBA Live 04 install. Got a new CPU (Ryzen 7 3700X) and I can't seem to get the resolution to stay at the config file resolution. GPU is a GTX 1080 and old CPU was an i5-4570 and with that, I had no problem setting the resolution from within the config files found in the documents area.

After the fresh install, I thought I could copy the config files over but when I put the play disc in, it failed so I let the game generate a new config file but then manually copied across my highest resolution settings. The game boots fine but the resolution just defaults to 640x480 and ignores the config file. I had the config file originally set as read only and even changing that didn't affect anything.

Anyone know why I'm having this problem? Game just defaults to 640x480 with low options and I want to set it back to 1280x1024 like I originally had.

Thanks

The gameplay resolution doesn't change at all? The menus will always be 640x480, but if you update the freshly created config file with the new resolution, it should be used in gameplay.

I feel like such an idiot. I hadn't even run a game yet, completely forgot the menu was in the low resolution and as soon as I fired up a game, it was fine.

Thanks Andrew

No problem, and don't worry. A lot of older games did adjust the resolution of their menus as well, but for some reason that generation of NBA Live games didn't.
