Help with controllers?

Postby Rodzilla91 on Sun Nov 10, 2019 5:07 am

Hey everyone, it seems that newer controllers have an issue with the triggers not registering any input? (they "work" within in the game, but can not be assigned and i believe they treat it as an axis). I'm using a dualshock 4 with inputmapper that basically makes it like a Xbox 360 controller. Is there any known fix for this or am I out of luck? thanks

I'm using a Logitech F710 PC gamepad, and when I'm playing an older game like NBA Live 2005, I have to use the switch on the controller itself to toggle from XInput to DirectInput. If InputMapper allows you to switch between those modes in the software, that'd be worth a try.

I didn't think about that, but using xbcd seems to have worked for me for now, thanks

do you have a recommended slider set?

Not apart from the one I posted all those years ago, sorry. It's been a long time since I played NBA Live 2005 regularly.

Figured it out by the way, I was trying to do it while on parsec with a friend, & with parsec it registers clients controllers as an xbox 360 controller, which is xinput of course. So using xinput plus i was able to make both controllers work with proper triggers. We both were using dualshock 4s so we used DS4Windows and then I had xinput plus open on my end since I was hosting

Excellent! Figured it must've been something like that, given my experiences with XInput/DirectInput.

Yup, took awhile to figure it out, but I got it. It's just annoying given that parsec passes through their controller as a X360 one regardless.

by the way, off topic as it might be, what is your favorite Live? (from the PC), 2000?

NBA Live 06 PC. It's the most all-around game of the generation with the best version of Dynasty mode, and highly moddable.
