That's strange, it should be compatible. What's the exact error message?

It should also install any missing components as well. I'll have to give it a try sometime, it might require Compatibility Mode.

I've since updated to Windows 10. As far as I know everything should be working, but I'll give it a try and report back, as well as any troubleshooting I end up doing (if need be).

Not as yet, I haven't had a chance to look into it this weekend.

I can confirm that NBA Live 07 (and NBA Live 2005, 06, and 08) are still working for me after upgrading to Windows 10. I haven't had to do anything special to get them to run.

I found the issue and the fix!!
1. Load your game disc into your drive.
2. Right click and open the disc to view the files on the disc.
3. Open the "Support" folder
4. Look for the "EasyReqs" file
5. Right click and open with notepad.
6. Scroll to the right and on the top row, you will see this "<DirectX_Version>9.0c</DirectX_Version>"
7. Delete that portion of that file ONLY! With the greater than and less than symbols too.
8. After that in upper right corner hit file, scroll down and hit save.
9. Run the setup again and that bypasses the direct x error!
10. Install, play and enjoy!!

I just figured this out and had to share. It works if you follow those steps.

So now that I have a new PC running Windows 10 and have to install NBA Live 07 fresh - before I'd installed it under Windows 7, then upgraded to Windows 10 - I've finally run into this issue. Great to have a workaround, though I'm guessing I'll have to copy it to my second HDD so that I can edit the EasyReqs file which is obviously read-only on the DVD-ROM. Unless of course, someone has found another workaround to skip that during the installation. Otherwise, findizzle's method appears to be the one to use.

I did find an alternative to editing that file, which means it isn't necessary to copy the contents of the DVD-ROM to a hard drive first!

By running the AutoRun.exe on the NBA Live 07 DVD-ROM using Windows Vista Compatibility settings, it doesn't encounter an error when trying to search for DirectX9. Vista is the only one that seemed to work; not Windows 7, not even Windows XP which was still commonly installed when NBA Live 07 was released.

You may also want to try installing the DirectX Redist (June 2010), which you can get here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... px?id=8109
