It's a shame, but it's definitely the way the winds are blowing when it comes to the video game industry. I do think NBA Street (and NBA Jam, for that matter) would find an audience today, with NBA Playgrounds and NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 being proof of that, but not as annual release, cash cow franchises. As noted in the video, that makes them riskier projects, and poor fits for the current approach.
