ok, this just happened, and I am still catching my breath. I am going to attempt to lay out a little tutorial for people to help out. What is beautiful about this is the texture part is pretty easy afaik. This roster stuff was supposed to be the big pain and it looks pretty straight forward.


NBA Street Vol. 2 Roster Profiles for Hex On Steroids
Loading those files in Hex on Steroids will let you edit the xdbplyr.adf in the database folder of the game.

Once you start hex on steroids and create a profile, goto your My Documents, Hex on Steroids, Profiles folder
Create a Folder called Street or whatever
Put the downloaded profiles in that folder

For the sake of testing and learning what the values are, here is the gamecube and PS2 xdbplyr.adf files.

That being said, if you "trade" one player to another team, will the traded player have the jersey of the new team, or his old team? If we have to update each jersey individually that would suck, but could be convenient in some places

I traded Pierce and Abdur-Rahim, they wear the correct shorts (so Pierce in Hawks shorts) but they wear the same uniform top as before. iirc from looking at the xbox files, that is just the way it is. CF file plus jersey top

Makes sense, because If I remember correctly the unlockable Legends had their own style of jerseys, even if they were on the same team as "current" players, so retro and current jerseys would mix on the same team.

I don't know anything about PS2 or GC emulators, BUT from playing WWF No Mercy mods on an N64 emulator, a certain plugin made it possible to overwrite textures to replace the vanilla ones. Is there something similar to this for either of the emulators available?

Having modded No Mercy as well, I can say Dolphin has the same EXACT feature built in. Just get the texture you want to replace to load in-game, turn on "texture dumping" then edit and place into a folder that it loads the new textures from.

Dolphin can even go as high as 8x the original texture size I'm pretty sure, so probably GC would be most viable for a "HD Remake" (even though Vol 2 runs kinda poopy on my computer)

Damn, that'll be tedious to make a new jersey texture for literally every player :/

well, it is street, so we could just do a lazy generic team uniform for everyone, the new practice ones from the summer league, then go back through a second time.

You should experiment with the free look camera option next to the load/dump textures options.
