I love this game so much, I wish i had more free time to help, but i will be limited to input on rosters and ratings and the like.

Ah nice! Didn't even notice that. I might want to test out netplay some day and probably write up a tutorial if working properly.

Is there a known method to extract, edit and replace models for Dolphin/GC games? Or if not, would it be possible to assign player x the model of player y? I'm asking for face/haircut updates/replacements.

in the roster we can tell the game to load a certain player package for certain players, we cannot do model edits

Okay, I'm not familiar with the concept of player packages, I believe you guys talked about it a little on the pod, so this package defines which model a player uses?

Hm, I wonder if weather a player wears a headband is defined by their head model...

Let's talk ratings real quick. How should we convert them? I'd like to whip up something in OpenOffice quickly

My proposition:
Street 2 Ratings Conversions:
2 Point Shots: Average of Inside Shot, Close Shot & Medium Shot rating from 2K13
3 Point Shots: Conversion of 3 Point rating from 2K13
Dunks: Conversion of Dunk rating from 2K13
Power: Average of Stand Dunk, Offensive Low Post, Defense Low Post & Strength rating from 2K13
Blocks: Conversion of Block rating from 2K13
Steals: Average of Steal, On-Ball Defense & Defensive Awareness rating from 2K13
Handles: Average of Ball Handling, Ball Security & Hands rating from 2K13
Rebounds: Average of Offensive Rebound & Defensive Rebound rating from 2K13

Ratings from 2K13 I couldn't think of where to stick:
Free Throw, Lay Up, Shot In Traffic, Post Fadeaway, Post Hook, Shot Off Dribble, Off Hand Dribble, Pass, Offensive Low Post, Defense Low Post, Offensive Awareness, Consistency, Stamina, Speed, Quickness, Vertical, Hustle, Durability, Potential.

Suggestions?

Honestly that's too much work for ratings. it's not like it's 50-99... on the team select screen, it's 1-6 dots in 8 categories. 1 corresponds to 50, 2 = 60, 3= 70, 4= 80, 5 = 90, crown = 99
I could do the Clippers in less than a minute right now:
Paul-2 Point Shots: 5
3 Point Shots: 4
Dunks: 1
Power: 2
Blocks: 1
Steals: 5
Handles: 5
Rebounds: 3

Redick-2 Point Shots: 3
3 Point Shots: 5
Dunks: 2
Power: 3
Blocks: 2
Steals: 3
Handles: 2
Rebounds: 2

Crawford-2 Point Shots: 4
3 Point Shots: 5
Dunks: 2
Power: 2
Blocks: 2
Steals: 2
Handles: 5
Rebounds: 2

Griffin-2 Point Shots: 3
3 Point Shots: 1
Dunks: 5 (or Crown?)
Power: 5
Blocks: 3
Steals: 3
Handles: 3
Rebounds: 5

Jordan-2 Point Shots: 2
3 Point Shots: 1
Dunks: 5 (or Crown?)
Power: 4
Blocks: 5
Steals: 1
Handles: 1
Rebounds: 5

Yeah, but the game still recognizes and uses ratings between 0 and 99, and using the Reditor with OpenOffice, it's minimal effort to make the conversions.

So this happened easily enough :D

Since I can change the size of these database files to my heart's content, I can just add names to the end of the file, so it will be nice and easy to change/add names if need be. Same for the players file, which I am going to tackle right now.

In excel, all I did was type in the name, then =LEN(cell#)+1 to get the new offset I needed for the team name ID. Same for players. Video tutorials galore will come to get this knowledge out there.

Ah, and here is the file itself.

Thanks for preventing the doublerpostah :P And thanks for the encouragement too, this is a modding dream come true

Image

xdbplyr-PlayerNamesAndOffsets.zip

So what this file contains is all the player names from the Roster Thread in the rosters' "Bank of Names". The CSV included in that download has all the offsets for all the names (for the Hex on Steroids Rows 1 and 2), and yes, I just redundantly added Pierce and other old players again.

So, all that needs to happen now is figure out which player will replace which player.....yay. Please see the new thread for input on that.
