The NBA 2K20 MyCAREER trailer has dropped, giving us our first look at this year’s story. Titled “When the Lights Are Brightest”, the story is a co-production with SpringHill Entertainment, LeBron James’ and Maverick Carter’s production company. It comes just in time for the demo, which will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on August 21st.
This year’s tale will follow an NBA prospect named Che, with a focus on his life both on and off the court. It will apparently deal with off-court pressures and social issues, in addition to the path to becoming a star in the league. The cast includes Idris Elba, Rosario Dawson, and Thomas Middleditch. A variety of NBA players, past and present, also make cameos. Taylor Materne and Sheldon Candis are the writer and director respectively.
Check out the trailer below, or catch it here on YouTube.
You can also get a look behind the scenes here. We’ll presumably be getting a developer blog about MyCAREER very soon, providing a further insight into what to expect from this year’s mode. In the meantime, what do you make of the NBA 2K20 MyCAREER trailer? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below, as well as join in the discussion here in the NLSC Forum!
