With the preview season finally getting properly underway, 2K has posted a developer blog about Seasons in NBA 2K22. As previously noted, this year the Seasons approach will be utilised in MyCAREER and The W Online, as well as MyTEAM.
Similar to MyTEAM, Seasons in MyCAREER will feature a grand prize, in addition to rewards such as apparel and banners. As an example, Season 1’s rewards will unlock inline skates at Level 30 and go-karts at Level 40, providing quicker transportation around The City and The Neighborhood. Each Season will also add new songs to NBA 2K22.
The W Online – available in Next Gen only – will feature similar seasonal rewards including clothing, nail polish, and more usefully, Badges. MyTEAM’s approach to Seasons will be similar to NBA 2K21, with both new and familiar Agendas to earn XP and unlock card rewards.

NBA 2K22 Seasons Courtside Report Summary
- Seasons will be featured in MyCAREER, The W Online, and MyTEAM in NBA 2K22.
- The first Season tips off with the launch of the game, and is titled “Call to Ball”.
- Each Season will last six weeks, with a ninth and final Season scheduled for August 2022.
- There are 40 Levels to each Season. Reaching Level 40 unlocks the Season’s grand prize.
- All Season rewards are free and redeemable, and are earned by playing the game and completing objectives.
- Exploring The City and The Neighborhood, completing quests, and playing the connected modes, are all ways to earn XP.
- Apparel, banners, Badge Points, and vehicles are among the rewards in MyCAREER.
- Season 1 in MyCAREER will feature inline skates as the Level 30 reward, and a go-kart as the Level 40 reward.
- As previously revealed, Season 1 in Current Gen will involve a cruise to the Caribbean as its setting.
- Reaching Legend MyREP status will involve achieving Level 40 in four different (not necessarily consecutive) Seasons.
- New songs will be added to the NBA 2K22 soundtrack every Friday throughout the Seasons.
- There will also be seasonal clothing items.
- MyTEAM Seasons will function similarly to NBA 2K21 with the use of Agendas. Season and Lifetime Agendas will provide opportunities to earn XP and card rewards.
- The Level 40 reward for Season 1 in NBA 2K22 MyTEAM is a Pink Diamond “King of New York” Carmelo Anthony card.
- Rewards in The W Online’s Seasons include Badges, clothing bundles, nail polish, and other as yet unspecified prizes.
