NBA Jam: Legends On Fire Edition V2.0 Released

johnz1 has released a few fantastic projects for the PlayStation 3 version of NBA Jam: On Fire Edition at this point, but it all began with NBA Jam: Legends On Fire Edition back in 2023! Earlier this month, he released a huge update to that original project that’s been three years in the making. In case you missed it, NBA Jam: Legends On Fire Edition V2.0 is now available!

So, what’s new in V2.0? Teams from the 2020s have been added, including Spurs and Knicks squads that represent last season’s NBA Finals. A handful of teams were also removed to make way for the new ones that are now in higher demand. Several new players have been added to team rosters, including Bill Walton, Kyrie Irving, Jalen Brunson, Ralph Sampson, and Antoine Walker. Player faces have also been updated, along with jerseys and arenas. Ratings have also been re-evaluated, and Road Trip has been renamed “Franchise Takedown”, reflecting the revamp to the mode.

Please note that this release is essentially treated like a new game, so any save files created with previous versions of the mod unfortunately won’t work. The mod will run superbly on the RPCS3 PlayStation 3 emulator, but it can also be installed on jailbroken PS3s. Please also note that this mod won’t work with the Xbox 360 version of NBA Jam: On Fire Edition, and no release for the Xbox 360 is planned.
