The NBA 2K15 MyPLAYER is the player character in NBA 2K15's MyCAREER mode.

Background & Biography[edit]

A talented player with dreams of making the NBA, the NBA 2K15 MyPLAYER is very confident in his abilities, believing he is the next big superstar player. His ego and temper occasionally make him difficult to deal with, and he is not always a sympathetic character, though various points in the story allow him the opportunity to show his good side.

The player character secures the services of an agent and enters the 2014 NBA Draft. However, much to their anger and disappointment, they remain undrafted at the end of the second round. This causes them to berate their agent, who tries to calm them down, while promising to explore other avenues to the NBA.

Late in the season, the player has a chance to sign a ten day contract with an NBA team. They earn a spot on the team, and a veteran NBA player takes them under their wing.

As his career takes off, the player has an opportunity to sign a shoe deal with Nike or Jordan. It's at this point he meets Jackson Ellis, a former top prospect turned shoe rep following a serious injury. The player has the choice to play Ellis' game and grovel for a contract, or assert himself in his negotiations. He's also approached by his old high school coach, who tells him that their gym is being shut down due to falling into disrepair. The player has the option of contributing financially to the cost of the repairs, which costs Virtual Currency.

  • It is possible to fail to earn a roster spot after the ten day contract expires, resulting in a "game over" screen where the user is invited to go back and try again, or start over from the beginning.
