NBA 2K19 is an NBA basketball simulation video game by 2K Sports. It is the twentieth installment of the NBA 2K series, released on September 7th (20th Anniversary Edition) and September 11th (Standard Edition) for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The cover player for the Standard Edition is Giannis Antetokounmpo, while LeBron James appears on the 20th Anniversary Edition cover. It is the direct sequel to NBA 2K18, and was followed by NBA 2K20.

Development & Features[edit]

NBA 2K19 is a sim-oriented basketball video game, retaining modes such as MyCAREER, MyGM, MyLEAGUE, MyTEAM, The Playground, The Neighborhood, and 2K Pro-Am, as well as gameplay elements such as the Pro Stick. The current gen version of the game is built on the Flowtech engine. It also retains additional content such as the historical squads and All-Time Teams.

Editions & Cover Players[edit]

On June 5th 2018, LeBron James was revealed as the cover player for the 20th Anniversary Edition of NBA 2K19. The cover art is a departure from the usual style for NBA 2K, and notably features LeBron wearing a generic black jersey. On July 2nd, the cover player for the Standard Edition of the game was revealed to be Giannis Antetokounmpo. The cover art featuring Antetokounmpo had been inadvertently leaked a week prior. Ben Simmons was announced as the first Australian cover player on July 4th. The 20th Anniversary Edition of NBA 2K19 retails for $99.99 USD, while the Standard Edition costs $59.99 USD.
