NBA Live 21 (stylised as NBA LIVE 21) is a planned NBA basketball simulation video game by EA Sports, tentatively slated for release in late 2020. It will be the twenty-second game in the NBA Live series (not counting cancelled titles), and the sixth game in the series to be developed by EA Tiburon. It will be the direct sequel to NBA Live 19, and will presumably be followed by NBA Live 22.

Cancellation of NBA Live 20

NBA Live 20 was originally listed as an upcoming title in a financial report for EA Sports, slated for release in Q2. However, a subsequent report listed it as a Q3 release, indicating that it would not be launching in September alongside NBA 2K20. On October 29th, EA Sports announced that NBA Live 20 would not be released, citing that they were happy with the progress the team had made, but elected to take extra time to relaunch the series on the next generation of consoles. As of September 2020, NBA Live 21 has not yet officially been announced.

Development & Features

NBA Live 21 is expected to be a sim-oriented basketball game, which aims to realistically portray the real National Basketball Association. It will likely retain features such as a Franchise mode, ESPN presentation, right stick dribbling controls, Ultimate Team, The One, and other established staples of the NBA Live series, albeit possibly under slightly different names and branding.
