It was released for the Xbox 360 on February 19th 2007 and Playstation 3 on March 6th, 2007. Carmelo Anthony is featured as the cover player of NBA Street Homecourt and also provides narration for his homecourt of Cloverdale. Homecourt is also the first Xbox 360 game to support 1080p resolution.

Concept & Features[edit]

NBA Street Homecourt continues the series tradition of offering players arcade-style streetball featuring NBA players. However, Homecourt also places emphasis on the streetball courts that several NBA players played on growing up with detailed renderings of several local street courts from around the United States, such as the Cloverdale court (Carmelo Anthony's homecourt). The object of the game's career mode (the Homecourt Challenge) is to create a player and take part in a cross-country barnstorming challenge where NBA players represent their hometowns and host elimination tournaments. During the course of the Challenge the created player can boost their abilities while trying to place their own homecourt on the map as they build their own legend. Several bonus features can also be unlocked during the course of the Homecourt Challenge.

Popular elements such as Gamebreakers have been retained and new features such as teammate dunks have been introduced. Players can now launch off the back of a crouching teammate to perform even more spectacular dunks. The complexity and success of a dunk is determined by holding down the Shoot button while a dunk meter is filled. If released at the correct time, a player will hold onto the rim, catch the ball as it goes through and perform a second dunk to score two baskets on a single possession. When combined with a Gamebreaker, a player can boost their team's score even higher. If the Shoot button is held too long however, a player will miss the dunk.

In addition to the Homecourt Challenge, the game also offers various modes such as a simple exhibition between two NBA teams, Gamebreaker Battles wherein a team can only score using a Gamebreaker, Trick Battles, a Back to Basics mode where trick points and Gamebreakers aren't used and a Custom Game option where the user can customise the points system, length of the shotclock and other aspects of the game.
