NLSC Podcast #279: Fixing 2K Pro-Am & The Online Experience

NLSC Podcast Logo

Episode #279 of the NLSC Podcast is out now! Arcane and I are your hosts this week, and we’re debuting a revamped format. As I previously noted, we’re looking to focus on one main discussion topic per episode, following a brief round-up of any news and community announcements. We’re hoping that this will also allow us to conduct more interviews, and produce other special features.

We’re tipping off the revamped NLSC Podcast with a quick recap of Patch 1.23 for NBA Live 19 and Patch 1.09 for NBA 2K19, before getting into this week’s topic: the problems with 2K Pro-Am, and how we’d fix them. 2K Pro-Am is a mode that we’ve played a lot these past few years, and frequently talked about on the show. We’ve had a lot of fun with it, but we’ve also endured several frustrating sessions, due in large part to changes that have not always been for the better. After identifying the most pressing issues with 2K Pro-Am, we suggest a few possible solutions that we’d like to see implemented in NBA 2K20 and beyond.

Tune in below!

What are your thoughts on 2K Pro-Am, and how would you improve it? Sound off in the comments section below, or join in the discussion here in the Forum! Additionally, feel free to hit us up with any feedback on the episode, as well as suggestions for topics that you’d like to hear us discuss in future episodes. Good first show back guys! I think I’ve been put off online gaming so bad in the passed that is why I stick to franchise mode.

I used to play a little but as a walk on but the teammates were just so bad they played zero D while zig zaging there way to shooting (in one game) 73 3’s between two teammates, the other two teammates quit by half time.

I carried on till the end but took just 3 shots the entire game, had 28 rebounds and 5 blocks. We actually won…

It’s a bit like Don McLean’s comments on James Harden, he’s not cheating he’s just cheesing and it’s not pretty to watch.

Another problem is of course the server issues along with living in England the time difference with playing online games with across the globe is insane when your trying to get through life lol, the lag issue is a joke tho, like Ben said he’s on the fastest internet he can get in area which was the case for my mate last year (10 meg) and we used to play CoD no problems but 2k was crazy with getting booted, this year he managed to upgrade to Fiber (40 meg) and guess what.. same problems..

What are the servers like in Australia for nba live Andrew? I haven’t got my PSP right now but for the months I did I never had any lag or disconnect at all there.
