It’s clear that NBA 2K26 will be a fixture in the NLSC Top 10 Plays in the months to come, but old favourites are definitely still in style! No matter the game however, the community is bringing it once again with a variety of thunderous poster dunks, wild alley-oops, and exciting defensive stops. Seven different titles are featured this week, from NBA Live 2000 all the way up to NBA 2K26. On top of that, a mixture of Legends, current players, and retro roster mods are on display. Our countdown will get you hyped to hit the virtual hardwood this weekend, so let’s get to the action!

Seeing the old nba lives in there will never get old for me
I love that old favourites are still in so many people’s rotations, and producing highlights to this day!
I think sometimes the older nba lives sort of pre 2002 the younger fans just dont realise how nasty getting an and1 on a dunk was when that older game had no sliders and wasnt known for awarding fouls often.
Plus it was all about the NBA and doing cool things with real players.

This is why I love the nlsc top 10, besides the music reminding me of the old nba action top 10s at the end of the pontels the clips are a mix of all nba video games old and new which definitely hits the nostalgic spot

I had picked up on that and it is a nice touch, ive been watching a lot of my old pontel collection lately so the memory is fresh with nba action
I use league pass now and haven’t bought a pontel in a fair few years but I miss watching the nba’s weekly wrap up like nba action, I think it would be good if something like that was added to LP.
I used to just use “free” streaming sites to watch the nba for years but the state of the UK these days with “free speech” etc i saw a man jailed for 3 years for uploading the English Premier league games and people getting 1k fines for watching illegal streams so I dont want that smoke!
NBA Action is still going, they run it here on ESPN Australia. It hasn’t been the same since Jim Fagan left in 2004, though. I guess it’s an outdated format with daily highlights and on-demand content, but man, it was everything back in the day!
There wasnt many better feelings growing up than opening the front door to see you got a delivery from pontel, especially if that day was a friday!
I kinda preferred the VHS tapes since you got 1 full game, 1 game in process but we never missed more than the 1st quarter and of course nba action!
I haven’t seen the current nba action since 2008 I think was the last pontel I had.
A quick question tho mate, have you had any issues with older pontel dvds no longer loading? I’ve got about 8 of them now that dont appear to be scratched or damaged but the ps4 won’t read them and ive got a tv/dvd combo won’t either.
To be fair theses games are up to 20 years old or more
I’ll need to check some of mine. Disc rot is a thing, though it’s less common if the discs are stored safely. It’d depend on the quality of the disc, too. Like everything else, sometimes there’s a bad run/batch.
Yeah they were kept in the pontel dvd boxes but to be honest ive moved house technically 5 times since my divorce in 2018 so they could of been damaged along the way lol
