NBA 2K12 My Player Cyberface Updated (ModdingWay)

For those have been experiencing errors using the initial release of Ariel Santarelli’s NBA 2K12 My Player Cyberface tool, he has released a new version (v1.1) that corrects an issue where your player’s stats from being updated after assigning them a face file. You can get the latest version here in our Downloads section.

For the uninitiated, the tool allows you to assign any face to your player in My Player mode, be it a current NBA player, legendary NBA player or your own custom face. For more information on how you can create your own cyberface, check out this thread by tgsogood in the NBA 2K12 Tutorials section.

NBA JAM: On Fire Edition – Holiday Sizzle Trailer

EA Sports have released a new Holiday Sizzle trailer for NBA Jam: On Fire Edition, in anticipation of the 2011/2012 season tipping off on Christmas Day. The trailer highlights the key features of the game including unlockables, legendary NBA players, the Online Arena and Road Trip. Naturally, it also features a couple of clips of Santa’s Slammers, hooping it up against their fellow holiday unlockable team, The Gobblers.

Check out the trailer below and don’t forget you can pick up NBA Jam: On Fire Edition for 1200 Microsoft Points through Xbox Live or $15 through the PlayStation Network. Also be sure to check out my review of the game here and our chat with producer Cody Sawatsky here. Finally, the game is also set up to receive roster updates at some point, though EA Sports have yet to confirm when they are coming. As soon as we have more details on that, we’ll be sure to post them.

GamesRadar: No rest for the NBA 2K12 team this holiday

GamesRadar have posted an article on the official updates for NBA 2K12, which includes some comments from producer Erick Boenisch. Erick talks about the process of updating the rosters and other content in NBA 2K12, touching upon the frantic nature of the post-lockout offseason and the wait for moves to be made official before they can be included.

He also hints at special content being available come Christmas Day, but would not offer any specific details. It is likely that some new shoe updates will be available as 2K Sports have already been adding new shoes to NBA 2K12 since its release, most recently the Nike Zoom Kobe VII.

NBA 2K12 Videos – Christmas Day Games

In anticipation of the 2011/2012 NBA season tipping off, 2K Sports have posted some new videos of the Christmas Day games being simulated in NBA 2K12. Check out the videos below for a highlight reel preview of all five Christmas Day games: Knicks vs Celtics, Mavericks vs Heat, Lakers vs Bulls, Thunder vs Magic and Warriors vs Clippers.

As I previously noted here, NBA Today is being updated to reflect the shortened 66 game schedule, so from Christmas Day you’ll be able to jump right into a quick game featuring any of the day’s real life matchups. The official art and roster updates will also continue through the season, including new shoes as players debut them.

Seventh Official NBA 2K12 Roster Update Released

The seventh official roster update for NBA 2K12 is now available to download. It should be downloaded automatically as long as your PC, Xbox 360 or PlayStation is connected to the Internet, though the updated rosters aren’t showing up for most people without first using the Reset Roster function under the Options menu. Once you’ve loaded the new rosters, I’d strongly recommend saving them.

The latest update contains the most recent transactions, with the notable exception of Samuel Dalembert’s signing with the Rockets which is not yet official, along with some new rookie additions including seventh overall pick Bismack Biyombo. Please see below for a full list of changes that have been made as of the latest roster.

NBA Jam: On Fire Edition Sixth Best XBLA Game of 2011 (Planet Xbox 360)

Planet Xbox 360’s Robert Workman has posted his Top 20 Xbox Live Arcade games for 2011, with NBA Jam: On Fire Edition coming in at sixth. Of the game, he said:

I will be honest, I loved NBA Jam when it came out last year. But On Fire Edition addresses many of the criticisms of that game, with a lower price point, improved gameplay mechanics, more features and online play. Plus, Honey Badgers and Isaac from Dead Space make appearances. Gotta love that.

Check out the complete Top 20 here. You can pick up NBA Jam: On Fire Edition for 1200 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live or for $15 on the PlayStation Network.

Sixth Official NBA 2K12 Roster Update Released

The sixth official roster update for NBA 2K12 is now available and should be downloaded automatically so long as your PC, Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 is connected to the Internet. The new update contains the latest cuts, trades, and free agent and rookie signings through December 19th, with the exception of a couple of players who are returning after more than a year away from the league. According to Ronnie 2K, those players will be added in time along with new art files.

Remember to use the Reset Roster function in the Options menu to load the new rosters; as I’ve mentioned before, I’ve had to reset the rosters twice to get the new ones to show up and I highly recommend saving the rosters after they’ve loaded. See below for an updated list of transactions included in the latest roster and if you’re playing on PC, make sure you also downloaded JaoSming’s Rookie Arm Fix to correct problems with the rookies’ arm textures.
