NBA 2K13’s Community Team-Up Program Announced

LD2k’s latest Tumblr update details the new Community Team-Up Program for NBA 2K13. The program sounds familiar to those who know about EA’s Advisory Council for NBA Live 13, but they explain that:

The 2K Sports “Community Team-Up” program is where we fly in some of our biggest fans and community members of NBA 2K, providing them with an exclusive look at NBA 2K13 and sharing some details with them pre-launch. They can then share the information we provide to them with the community.

The first two community members involved in the program were announced as well. Popular YouTube player Chris Smoove will be making the trip, as is Shady00018, also known as Rush here in the NLSC Forum.

Feel free to comment below with your thoughts on the program, and jump into the discussion here in the Forum.

NBA 2K12 Blacktop Revitalization for Xbox 360 & PC

I’ve released the NBA 2K12 version of my annual Blacktop Revitalization Mod, which makes Blacktop Mode a bit more fun to play. This year, I took the players from the console’s Legends Showcase DLC and put them on teams based on their abilities and whether or not they are current or legendary players.

Also, I threw in some D-League generic players to beat up on with these superstars. Below, you can watch my video overview of the Xbox 360 version of the roster.

The only difference between the two mods are the courts the players play on, since the Xbox 360 version cannot have custom courts, but does have the Times Square court from the DLC. The PC version includes the four courts I created for the NBA Street Mod this year.

You can download the Xbox 360 version through 2K Share by searching for my Gamertag, JaoSming, or the file’s name, Blacktop Roster. Or, you can download the USB Version, and the PC Version, in the NLSC Downloads Database.

Create a great 2012/2013 roster using Roster Merge & REDitor

We’re all excited for the new season of the NBA coming up, and we’re all following the progress of our teams and sharing the excitement of the new arrivals. And we also can’t wait. That’s why HAWK23’s Ultimate Base Roster hit a big spike when it became the first roster with complete 2012-2013 rookies in their proper teams. Only problem with that is that UBR only works in 82-games Associations and Seasons. Shorter schedules and MyPlayer don’t work at all. Also, Albys is renowned for his current roster, and he just brought us his final 2011-2012 roster, v6.  And as if that wasn’t enough, Nick completed v3 of his 2012 Draft Class, giving us the most complete and detailed rookies up to this point.

So, obviously, you’d love to have all that in one roster that works in every mode, right? Well, you can!

Visit our Forum to read my new guide on how to combine UBR, Albys’ roster and Nick’s draft class into a great 2012/2013 roster.

How to use NBA Stats Tracker with NBA 2K12

After quite some time, I decided to finally put up a video tutorial on how to use NBA Stats Tracker along with REditor and NBA 2K12 in order to not only fix your Team Stats, but also use all of NST’s analysis features on your career and keep track of how your team’s doing, scout your opponents, and get all the statistics and analytics that NBA 2K12 doesn’t give you.

During this video, you’ll see the exact steps you need to follow to setup your NST database, and what to do for each game of your career. You’ll also see all the features of NST at work, such as Metric Stats for the Box Score, Best Performers, as well as all the information of your team’s players you’ll be able to keep track of.

Remember to visit the tool’s thread if you have any questions, and to find out more.

On a final note, I really think NBA Stats Tracker, besides everything else, is also a really great tool for Dynasty story-telling, due to the automated detection of box scores and all the manual stat writing it will help you avoid. Also, you’ll be able to limit the stats features to a specific timeframe and check out how your players, team and opponents were doing between any two dates. I think that if you watch the two videos I’ve put up in my channel, the feature tour and this tutorial, you’ll think of even more ways to use NBA Stats Tracker to enhance your dynasty story.

File Additions for NBA 2K12

What can you expect in today’s file additions for NBA 2K12? A new tool from Leftos that allows you to randomise the schedule, an updated version of his in-depth NBA Stats Tracker tool, and Summer League Rosters by Suirad. See below for all the download links!

NBA Live 13 Cover Announcement Speculation

As we wait for more news on NBA Live 13 and the reveal of this year’s cover player, NLSC Forum member JerrodSwanson22 has put forth an interesting suggestion. He noted that the official NBA Live Facebook page has been sharing images of the previous NBA Live covers as part of EA Sports’ “Throwback Thursdays”, beginning with NBA Live 2005 on July 5th. Should this be leading up to the cover reveal for NBA Live 13, the announcement could be coming on August 23rd if they also include the NBA Elite 11 cover, or August 16th if they don’t; the latter is perhaps more likely.

This video from mid June also mentions the cover announcement coming in a month to six weeks, which could indicate it’s happening this week or next. Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose can all be ruled out as they will be gracing the NBA 2K13 cover, but LeBron James remains a popular suggestion, especially given the silhouette that has appeared in teaser images for NBA Live 13 so far.

When do you think the cover announcement will be made? Who do you think it will be? And what are your thoughts as we eagerly await more news on the game? Sound off in the comments below and join in the discussion in the NBA Live 13 section of the NLSC Forum!

NBA Jam for Android Review

Having recently upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S-II, I decided to pick up the Android version of NBA Jam, which was released back in March. After playing a few exhibition and Campaign mode games, I thought I’d share a quick review for anyone else who may be considering picking it up for their Android device.

Being a fan of the original NBA Jam series, as well as the 2010 reboot and last year’s On Fire Edition, I anticipated that the mobile version would be a solid, enjoyable incarnation of the classic arcade basketball game, something that would be fun to play on-the-go. Just how good is it, and how does it stack up to its console brethren? Read on to find out!

EA Sports Resurrects NBA Live 13 (GamerLiveTV)

Here’s another interview with NBA Live 13 executive producer Nick Wlodyka that we overlooked back in June, conducted by GamerLiveTV at E3 2012. Once again, a lot of the information in the video is stuff that we already know, however it does make mention of signature animations (including jumpshots, leaners, fadeaways and dunks), as well as signature emotions (such as LeBron puffing out his cheeks when driving to the basket).

Check it out below for a concise summary of everything that’s been revealed about NBA Live 13 so far, or watch it here over on YouTube if you can’t see the embedded video. Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments below and jump into the discussion in the NBA Live 13 section of the NLSC Forum. Thanks to our own Arcane for the heads up!

NBA Live 13 Interview (Gamechurch.com)

Here is an interview that Gamechurch.com conducted with NBA Live 13 producer Nick Wlodyka back at E3 2012, which we somehow missed posting back in June. The interview provides a good rundown of the info we know so far from their approach to the game, their main goals with NBA Live 13 and the sharing of ANT animation technology with the NHL and FIFA series.

It also reveals a couple of interesting tidbits that haven’t been talked about much, including updates to player faces throughout the season, the inclusion of different body models and wingspans and hot and cold streaks based on both real NBA data and the user’s experience. It’s a solid interview and definitely worth checking out, so watch it below or here over on YouTube if you can’t see the embedded video. As always, we invite you to leave a comment below with your thoughts, as well as take part in the latest discussion that’s going on in the NBA Live 13 section of the NLSC Forum.
