The article doesn’t contain too much in the way of new info but provides a fairly comprehensive recap of the last couple of years, from the cancellation of NBA Elite 11 through to NBA Live 13’s demonstration at E3 2012. Social Media Campaign To Reveal NBA 2K13 Cover Underway

2K Sports have tipped off a social media campaign in the lead up to the unveiling of the NBA 2K13 cover. The campaign is encouraging fans to Tweet #UncoverNBA2K to reveal clues about the cover, with a teaser image beginning to appear on the official NBA 2K Facebook page.

Video Tutorial: Uploading to the NLSC Download Database

In an effort to remove any confusion surrounding the uploading feature of our Downloads section, JaoSming has created an outstanding video tutorial which will guide you through the process of adding your work to the database. The tutorial demonstrates how to upload files, add files that are hosted externally, and manage files that have already been added.

NBA Live 08 Editor v1.0 by Ayiep Released

Here’s some exciting news for NBA Live 08 patchers. Ayiep has released the initial version of a standalone editor for NBA Live 08, which allows you to modify the roster files without using DB Commander to mess around in the databases. Ayiep is currently looking to add more features (including the ability to edit salary data) in subsequent releases, as well as developing similar tools for NBA Live 2005 through NBA Live 07.

New Addition to the NBA Live 13 Development Team Announced

EA Sports have revealed via Da_Czar’s SimNation Radio podcast that NBA Live Advisory Council member, owner of OGSports.com and former professional basketball player Scott O’Gallagher will be joining the NBA Live 13 development team. The latest episode of SimNation Radio also features some comments on the ANT animation technology and ESPN integration in this year’s game.

2K Sports Weekly Update on Tumblr: NBA 2K13 at E3 2012

2K Sports have launched a Weekly Update blog over on Tumblr, where they will be providing ongoing updates and information on NBA 2K13. The first entry provides a recap of the game’s demonstration at E3 2012, along with a rundown of all the details that have been released so far.

The blog also features a couple of videos of 2K Sports Community Manager Ronnie 2K chatting to NBA 2K13 developers Erick Boenisch and Rob Jones, along with a few NBA 2K13 previews posted by various media outlets. NLSC Current Roster Update v5.2 Released (NBA Live 2005-08)

I’ve released a new version (v5.2) of the current roster updates for NBA Live 2005, NBA Live 06, NBA Live 07 and NBA Live 08, which you can pick up at the links below. The rosters contain a couple of rating updates and lineups accurate as of June 12th 2012.

Please note that this is very likely the last update I’ll be releasing for the 2011/2012 season; as I’ve mentioned before, at this time I’m not sure if I will be continuing the updates next season but I will certainly remain open to the possibility and keep everyone posted of my decision.

Details on NBA Live 13’s Playmaker Engine (Shacknews)

A preview of NBA Live 13 has been posted over at Shacknews, providing some details on the new Playmaker Engine and Basketball IQ in this year’s game. It notably mentions the AI’s ability to adapt as the game and season progresses, with situational awareness and recognition of tendencies allowing it to make strategic adjustments. The data will come straight from real NBA games, as per EA Sports’ renewed deal with Synergy Sports.

The article also touches upon the ANT animation technology that has been borrowed from the NHL and FIFA series, responsive controls and the ability to break out of animations. NBA 2K13 All-Star Weekend Features List Revealed

Online store listings for NBA 2K13 such as this one at GameStop.com have revealed the list of features for the All-Star Weekend pre-order bonus content. The list gives a quick rundown of the four events that are included in the pack, while also touting the ability to use legends in the dunk contest and three point shootout. It also mentions dynamic updates for the All-Star Game and Rising Stars Challenge rosters once the participants are announced.

First NBA 2K13 Commercial: NBA 2K12 Accolades

For those who may have missed it, the first commercial for NBA 2K13 was shown prior to Game 1 of the NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder. The commercial doesn’t offer us a glimpse of this year’s game at all, instead touting NBA 2K12’s accolades and featuring comments from Kobe Bryant, Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose.
