NBA 2K17 Trailer: Friction

NBA 2K17: Kyrie Irving

2K has finally released the first extended gameplay trailer for NBA 2K17, titled “Friction”. As is traditional, it spotlights several noteworthy players from cinematic angles, and includes both highlight plays and celebration animations.

The trailer features cover athlete Paul George, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook going head to head, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo on the Chicago Bulls, Derrick Rose on the New York Knicks, a glimpse of Kobe Bryant wearing number eight, Jimmy Butler, Karl-Anthony Towns, rookie Ben Simmons, and Chris Paul, among several others.

Interestingly, around the 1:20 mark, someone is shown performing a trampoline dunk during a timeout. This would seem to suggest that there will be more enhancements to arena atmosphere in NBA 2K17. The trailer is strictly spotlighting NBA teams and players, so no FIBA or Euroleague teams are featured. Both have been confirmed for the game however, along with retro teams.

Check out the Friction trailer below, or watch it here on YouTube if you can’t see the embedded video. What are your thoughts?
