Patch 7.0 is out now for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of NBA 2K26. The PC patch will come through on May 15th, in time for the new season. As always, the new update should download automatically as long as you’re online. If it doesn’t, try restarting your console or Steam client, or checking for updates manually.

In addition to preparing NBA 2K26 for Season 7 in MyCAREER and MyTEAM, Patch 7.0 adds the Portland Fire and Toronto Tempo as playable teams in WNBA Quick Play. The uniforms and floors for all WNBA teams have also been updated for the 2026 season. Additionally, drive transitions from standing step back moves have been refined so as to be more realistic, and an issue with the NBA Cup in MyNBA when using a custom schedule has been resolved.

Patch 8.0 for NBA 2K25 is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. As always, it should come through automatically as long as you’re online. If it doesn’t, try restarting your console or Steam client, or check for updates manually.

Although the 2025 NBA season has drawn to a close in real life, there’s a new campaign in NBA 2K25. As such, Patch 8.0 updates NBA 2K25 for Season 8 in MyTEAM and MyCAREER, and includes some stability fixes throughout the game. VC payouts have notably also been increased in 5v5 Proving Grounds games, and there are some WNBA branding updates as well.

It’s a small update as you’d expect at this point of the year, but you can find the release notes below, as well as here in our Wiki. With one more in-game season to go before NBA 2K26 is released, we can most likely expect a ninth and final patch in about six weeks. Patch 7.0 is out now for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of NBA 2K25. The PC patch will be out by May 17th, in time for the tip-off of Season 7. As always, the update should come through automatically as long as you’re online. If it doesn’t, try restarting your console or Steam client, or checking for updates manually.

As I noted when Patch 6.0 dropped, we’re past the point of major title updates for this year’s game. To that point, Patch 7.o is mostly about preparing NBA 2K25 for Season 7 in MyCAREER and MyTEAM. However, it does include a handful of jersey updates – mostly removing sponsor updates and adding other minor details – and likeness updates for various WNBA players. There are also a couple of minor gameplay adjustments, and the usual bug and stability fixes.

Patch 5.0 is now available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S version of NBA 2K25, with the PC patch set to drop soon. As always, it should come through automatically as long as you’re online. If it doesn’t, try checking for updates manually, or restarting your console/Steam client.

In addition to preparing NBA 2K25 for Season 5 in MyTEAM and MyCAREER, Patch 5.0 includes updates to player likenesses and team jerseys. It also includes fixes for disconnections in multiplayer games, a couple of Trophies/Achievements that weren’t unlocking correctly, and a few other issues.

Patch 3.0 is now available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S version of NBA 2K25, with the PC patch set to drop in time for the new season. In addition to preparing NBA 2K25 for Season 3 in MyTEAM and MyCAREER – tipping off November 29th – Patch 3.0 includes court and uniform updates, hair updates for various players, a couple of quality of life changes, bug fixes, and gameplay adjustments. The PC patch will also include some optimisation and performance fixes.

Patch 2.0 has been released for NBA 2K25. As of writing, it’s available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S version of the game, and should come through on PC in time for Season 2. Like all title updates, it will be downloaded automatically as long as you’re online. If it doesn’t, try restarting your console or Steam client, or checking for updates manually.

This is the big update in anticipation of Season 2 that was previously promised. In addition to preparing NBA 2K25 for Season 2 in MyTEAM and MyCAREER, Patch 2.0 contains a plethora of bug fixes, adds some new functionality across game modes, and makes some adjustments to gameplay. New player likeness have also been added, along with updated courts and jerseys. There are also some PC-specific fixes and optimisation for better performance.

This week’s Courtside Report provides an insight into MyTEAM in NBA 2K25. There are definitely some significant changes in the mode this year, including the return of a feature that was greatly missed in NBA 2K24.

That feature is of course the Auction House, which was replaced by the Player Market last year. It’s back in NBA 2K25 however, with some enhancements to make it more user-friendly. There will also be some verification checks in place, to make sure that it isn’t being abused. 2K are warning that there will be a zero-tolerance policy in effect here.

Other key additions and improvements to NBA 2K25 MyTEAM include Breakout City and Triple Threat Park. The former is a new board-based single player mode, while the latter remasters Rivet City from NBA 2K16 to bring a park atmosphere to MyTEAM’s online modes. There will also be weekly events, and new ways to earn rewards with the MyTEAM Rep system.

Again, there’s a ton of detail in the NBA 2K25 MyTEAM Courtside Report – especially compared to the more modest preview of The W – so as always, I’d recommend giving it a read. I’ll admit that between my lack of enthusiasm for NBA 2K24 and the frequent absence of detailed patch notes, I’ve not been on top of posting news about the official updates this year. With that being said, Season 8 is tipping off in NBA 2K24 this Friday, and as such, a new patch is available. As always, it should come through automatically as long as you’re online. If it doesn’t, try checking for updates manually, or restarting your console or Steam client.

It appears that 2K has given up on updating the release notes over on the official website, but according to a post on the official NBA 2K Community Discord, it simply prepares the game for Season 8 in MyCAREER and MyTEAM. At this point of the year, that’s about all we can expect! A further patch for Season 9 should be dropping in about six weeks, and that will take us through to the release of NBA 2K25.

You can find a history of patch notes for NBA 2K24 (such as they are, in most cases) for both the Next Gen and Current Gen versions over in our Wiki. I’ve also added information about the Season 7 update, which I previously neglected to post. In addition to adding content and otherwise preparing NBA 2K24 for Season 6, the patch fixes some details with current and classic jerseys and courts. It also corrects an issue with MyTEAM Agendas, adjusts the requirements for Devin Booker’s spin jumper animation, and includes some other technical and stability fixes.

Patch 1.4 (aka the big Season 2 Patch that has been promised) is out now for the New Gen version of NBA 2K24. It should come through automatically as long as your PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S is online. If it doesn’t, try restarting your console, or checking for updates manually.

In addition to preparing NBA 2K24 for Season 2 in MyCAREER and MyTEAM, Patch 1.4 includes a variety of fixes based on gamer feedback since launch. This includes adjusting progression, addressing latency issues (allegedly), and resolving a number of bugs throughout modes and gameplay. Several player likenesses have also been updated, along with jerseys and courts.

The latest Courtside Report provides an insight into MyTEAM in NBA 2K24. A trailer for the mode has also been released, spotlighting what 2K are describing as “foundational changes throughout the mode”, as well as gameplay highlights from cinematic angles.

There are definitely some noteworthy changes to MyTEAM this year, including the replacement of the Auction House with the new Player Market. MyTEAM Points earnings have also been increased, XP can be earned simply by playing games rather than completing specific Agendas, and Tokens are now seasonal. As confirmed back in July, crossplay will be available between PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, while MyTEAM and MyCAREER will share seasonal progression.

From courtside of the virtual hardwood, it’s Episode #491 of the NLSC Podcast!

Two tiers of Season Passes have been confirmed for MyTEAM and MyCAREER in NBA 2K24. Needless to say, it was a controversial announcement! This week we’re taking a deep dive into the issue, examining the potential impact on the game, as well as Take-Two’s history of aggressive recurrent revenue mechanics. We also read out comments from community members; it’s not a spoiler to say that we’re not alone in being unimpressed by the adoption of Season Passes for premium content! Meanwhile, content creators that shill for greedy business practices seem to be getting called out, which we’re glad to see. All in all, NBA 2K24 could prove to be a tipping point for microtransactions in the series!

And so, we enter end game! The preview season for NBA 2K24 ramps up this week and its release is looming on the horizon, but there’s one more Season to play in NBA 2K23 MyTEAM and MyCAREER. As such, Patch 9.0 has come through for NBA 2K23 this week on all platforms. It should download automatically as long as you’re online; if it doesn’t, try restarting your Steam client or console, or checking for updates manually.

At this point, it seems that 2K has given up on official patch notes. However, there obviously aren’t any major fixes or changes taking place this late in the lifecycle of NBA 2K23, so we can take it as read that Patch 9.0 simply updates the game for Season 9 in MyTEAM and MyCAREER.

Although we don’t have any detailed notes once again, you can find the update histories for the Next Gen and Current Gen versions of NBA 2K23 over in our Wiki. Although the cover reveal technically tipped off the previews for NBA 2K24, the preview season obviously isn’t quite in full swing until we learn more concrete details about the game. As announced by the official NBA 2K Twitter (or X) account, in-depth previews for NBA 2K24 will begin the week of August 14th.

The schedule is as follows:

• Week of August 14th: Gameplay with ProPLAY
• Week of August 21st: The W, MyNBA, Mamba Moments
• Week of August 28th: MyCAREER, The City, MyTEAM
• Week of September 4th: Season 1 in MyTEAM and MyCAREER

A reminder that ProPLAY, The W, MyNBA, and The City will be exclusive to the PlayStation 5/Xbox Series X|S version. The prior gen consoles and PC port will retain MyLEAGUE, basic WNBA content, and The Neighborhood in MyCAREER. However, this roadmap does confirm the leaked Mamba Moments mode, and seemingly for both generations.

NBA 2K24 is scheduled for release on September 8th. Pre-orders have been open since July 7th; if you’re interested and need a refresher on the bonuses, you can find them here.
